BRYANT MEN'S TENNIS DEFEATS SOUTHERN N.H. 6-3
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant men's tennis team won for the second straight day, defeating Southern NH 6-3 Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference match at the Bryant Tennis Courts. The Bulldogs opened the match winning two of the three doubles points - including a default victory at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Bryant fell at No. 1 and No. 2 singles but rallied to win four singles matches to pull out the victory. Craig Drushella (Harwich, Mass.) helped Bryant to the victory with strong play at both singles and doubles. In singles, Drushella earned a straight-set win over Mike Riccardi at No. 3, winning 6-0, 6-1. Zach Goodman followed with a win at No. 4 singles while senior Ben Caisse picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles.
After Bryant's top doubles tandem of Dylan Whiting and Goodman fell 8-6 to Pedro DePaula and Luis Ramirez, Drushella teamed up with Kevin Gardiner for an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles. The Bulldogs travel to AIC on Tuesday.
