SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University's men's tennis season finale against Brandeis University Wednesday afternoon has been cancelled due to rain. The match will not be made up. Bryant concludes its first season in Division I with a 9-9 overall record.

MEN'S TENNIS DEFEATS HARTFORD 6-1 TUESDAY
HARTFORD, CT The Bryant University mens tennis team evened its record to 9-9 on the season with a solid 6-1 win over the University of Hartford Tuesday afternoon. The Bulldogs return home Wednesday afternoon to host Brandeis University for Senior Day at the Bryant Tennis Center.

Bulldogs Earn Their First National D-I Ranking
Smithfield, RI - In their first year competing at Division 1 level, the Bryant University Mens Tennis Team appeared in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association ranking for the first time ever this week, ranked #167 out of almost 300 division I tennis programs.

WORCESTER, MASS. The Bryant University mens tennis team was perfect Saturday afternoon against Holy Cross, winning all seven possible points to take the duel match victory, 7-0, on the road. The victory improved the Bulldogs to 7-6 on the season.

Men's Tennis Falls to Brown 7-0 Tuesday
PROVIDENCE, RI The Bryant University mens tennis team dropped a 7-0 non-conference decision at Brown University Tuesday afternoon. It was the second loss this season to the Bears. The Bulldogs were swept in all three doubles matches and Brown followed with straight-set victories in all six singles matches that followed.

Men's Tennis Goes A Perfect 3-0 in Florida - Bulldogs Defeat St. Joseph's 4-3 Thursday
ORLANDO, FL The Bryant University mens tennis team closed out a very successful Spring Break trip to the Sunshine State Thursday as the Bulldogs picked up a hard-fought 4-3 win over Saint Josephs Thursday afternoon. After wins over Creighton and South Dakota and Thursdays win over the Hawks, the Bulldogs have now won four-straight and improve to 6-5 on the season.

Men's Tennis Regroups For Big Win Sunday at Boston University
BOSTON - Less than 12 hours after dropping a tough 5-2 decision that didnt end until late Saturday night, the Bryant mens tennis team regrouped and picked up a big 4-3 win at Boston University Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs didnt return to campus until early Sunday morning but found enough energy to pull out the dramatic win behind the strong play in doubles right away.

These days, one hears more about NCAA men's tennis teams getting eliminated than teams being promoted. But a promotion is what we are seeing this year for the Bryant University men's tennis team. The Bryant Bulldogs are a bright ray of positive light. After a successful run in Division II, Bryant is in the midst of its first year competing at the Division I level.

STORRS, CT- Junior Kevin Gardiner (Powder Springs, Ga.) registered the only singles match win for the Bulldogs, defeating Ben Schueler of UConn, 6-3, 6-2, but it was not enough as UConn took down Bryant, 5-2.

BRYANT BEATS HOFSTRA; CLAIMS FIRST DUAL MATCH VICTORY AT DI LEVEL
Smithfield, RI- The Bryant University men's tennis team lost just two matches as they defeated Hofstra 5-2 Saturday afternoon at the Bryant Tennis Complex. In their only home match of the season, the Bulldogs defended their home court by sweeping the doubles competition. Cristian Balestrieri and Kevin Gardiner defeated Stian Tvedt and Titus Stempniewicz, 8-6. Jose Rodriguez and Tom Nowak followed suit by defeating Nenad Radakovic and Mattew Wacks by the same 8-6 final.

MEN'S TENNIS FINISHES UP COMPETITION AT UCONN INVITATIONAL
STORRS, CT- The Bryant University mens tennis team traveled to the University of Connecticut over the weekend, taking part in the UConn Invitational tournament on wet weekend in Storrs, Connecticut. Beyond Bryant and UConn, the tournament also included teams from Stony Brook, Fairfield, Quinnipiac, Sacred Hart, Marist, Boston University and Hartford. Kevin Gardiner (Powder Springs, Ga.) had the big day for the Bulldogs, playing Flight B singles and winning two matches before falling in the semi-finals to Youssef Fassi Fehri from Stony Brook, 6-4. Gardiner won his first two matches by the same 6-4 final over Andrew Marcus from UConn, and Landon Greene from Marist. Since there was limited court space due to the inclement weather, each singles match only played a single set, with the first player to reach six winning the match.

BALESTRIERI, RODRIGUEZ, HILL LEAD WAY AT NORTHEAST INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT
PROVIDENCE, RI- After a great weekend at the Fairfield Doubles Festival last week, the Bryant University mens tennis team continued its solid play at the Northeast Invitational Tournament held at Brown University over the weekend. Sophomore Cristian Balestrieri (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) finished second playing in second flight singles, losing in the finals to Mark Malloy from Bucknell, 6-1, 6-3. Balistrieri won three straight matches to reach the finals, beating players from Colgate, Brown and Bucknell.

MEN'S TENNIS HAS SUCCESSFUL WEEKEND AT FAIRFIELD DOUBLES FESTIVAL
FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Senior Jose Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) and junior Tom Nowak (Medfield, Mass.) took down the second flight of the Fairfield Doubles Festival, as the Bryant men's tennis team capped off a very successful weekend in their first ever Division I tournament. Rodriguez and Nowak went undefeated in pool play, beating teams from New Jersey Institute of Technology, St. Peter's, and UConn to go a perfect 3-0. The Bulldog pair then defeated George Laffey and Dan Sauter from Fairfield University, 8-5, in the semi-final match before upending Garret Lane and James Kwei from Quinnipiac to win the tournament. They are the first pair to win a Division I tournament for Bryant.
