MEN'S TENNIS SPLITS PAIR OVER THE WEEKEND; FALL TO BUFFALO, KNOCK-OFF LEHIGH FOR SECOND DI WIN

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -  The Bryant University men's tennis team played a pair of neutral site matches over the weekend, falling to Buffalo, 6-1, Saturday afternoon before defeating Lehigh, 3-2, on Sunday. The victory was the first of the spring season, and second Division I win for the squad.

Bryant faced a tough Bulls team on Saturday at the Rally Point Racquet Club, grabbing one victory in singles. Nicholai Hill had the lone singles win, earning the Bulldogs only point with a 6-0, 5-7, 10-4 win over Mitch Zenaty.

The Bulldogs bounced back with a hard-fought victory over Lehigh at Brown's Pizzitola Center on Sunday afternoon. Balestrieri and Rodriguez got the team started, as they each picked up wins in their respective singles matches, with Balestrieri defeating Troy List, 3-6, 6-2, 10-7 in first singles and Rodriguez beating Collin Laffey in straight sets, 7-6, 6-4 in second singles. The Mountain Hawks would also get a pair of victories in singles matches, but Bryant would get the deciding match victory, as Tom Nowak and Kevin Gardiner partnered up for the, 8-6, doubles triumph over Arnaldo Pacheco and Cameron Silbert, lifting the Bulldogs to the dual-match win.

Bryant gets back on the court on February 14 when they take on Bucknell at Rally Point Racquet Club.
