BULLDOGS FALL TO UCONN, 5-2, IN MEN'S TENNIS ACTION WEDNESDAY
STORRS, CT- Junior Kevin Gardiner (Powder Springs, Ga.) registered the only singles match win for the Bulldogs, defeating Ben Schueler of UConn, 6-3, 6-2, but it was not enough as UConn took down Bryant, 5-2. Gardiner also helped in doubles, as he and Nicholai Hill (Ottawa, Canada) defeated Burns and Michales, 8-4.
Cristian Balestrieri (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) and Jose Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru), playing first and second singles respectively, each lost in a third set tiebreak. Balistrieri played a very close match with Joey Goldstein, defeating Goldstein in the first set, 7-5, before dropping the next two 6-4, 7-5.
Balestrieri and Dylan Whiting (Florence, Mass.) also won a doubles match with an 8-6 win over Goldstein and Schueler
The Bulldogs will take part in the Quinnipiac Invitational this weekend.
