MEN’S TENNIS FALLS TO FAIRFIELD 5-2
FAIRFIELD, CT – The Bryant University men’s tennis
team fell to Fairfield University 5-2 Tuesday afternoon at the
Walsh Athletic Center in Fairfield, CT. The Bulldogs dropped
the doubles point to open the match but go strong play at No. 3
singles by Kevin Gardiner.
Gardiner, a junior from Power Springs, GA entered Tuesday’s
match fresh off a big win over Sacred Heart Monday, held on for a
thrilling win over Fairfield’s Aaron Chan. Gardiner won
the opening set, 6-4 but dropped the second to Chan by a similar
score of 6-4. In the tie-breaker, Gardiner edged Chan with a
12-10 victory.
Bryant earned its other point at No. 6 singles where Zehn Laliwala
won in straight-sets over Chris Piasecki, 6-2, -2.
