EAST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Bryant University men's tennis team picked up a solid 7-0 win over Hofstra University Saturday night in East Hartford.  The Bulldogs got a strong performance by Juan Paredes at No. 1 singles as the Bulldog earned a straight-set win over Josh Levinson, 6-3, 6-1.

Teammate Cristian Balestrieri blanked Hofstra's Ben Thompson-Star in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles while Kevin Gardiner had a fine match at No. 4 singles, downing Jason Sinkoff, 6-1, 6-1.

Perhaps the most thrilling match of the day came at No. 5 singles where Bryant's Tom Nowak reached down deep and earned a hard-fought, come-from-behind win over Hofstra's Johan Vila.

Vila opened with a 6-3 win over Nowak in the first set, but the Bulldog senior came roaring back to pull out a 7-5 win in the second.  In the decisive third set, Nowak came out on top with a dramatic 10-8 win to claim the match.
