Vogt named NEC Player/Rookie of Month
MEN'S TENNIS FRESHMAN MAX VOGT EARNS SECOND-STRAIGHT NEC HONOR FOR BULLDOGS
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University men's tennis freshman Max Vogt (Fair Oaks, Calif.) has been named Northeast Conference Player and Rookie of the Month for the month of October.
Vogt is off to a flying start in his freshman season at Bryant. In the month of October he has posted a 5-2 mark in singles play and went a perfect 8-0 in doubles teaming with junior Dana Parziale (Pinehurst, N.C.).
He was a double winner at the Quinnipiac Invitational in early October, defeating opponents from the host Bobcats, UConn and two from Villanova en-route to the "B" flight crown. His tandem with Parziale also netted four straight wins and the "A" flight title.
Vogt, who also competed at the UConn Invitational and ITA Regionals over the past month, is now 7-3 in singles play and 8-3 in doubles competition to start his career.
This is the second-straight NEC Player of the Month honor for the Bulldogs after senior Vidith Huot (Providence, R.I.) was selected for the month of September.
Bryant will continue its 2012-13 slate in January when they begin their spring schedule with a trip to Boston College.
