DANA PARZIALE AND MAX VOGT NAMED NEC PLAYER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – As the Bryant University men's tennis team continues to find success as a whole, many individuals are receiving recognition as well, as junior Dana Parziale (Pinehurst, N.C.) and freshman Max Vogt (Fair Oaks, Calif.) sweep the Northeast Conference weekly honors.
Parizale, the NEC Player of the Week, is putting together another solid season posting a 10-9 overall record in singles play (5-3 in dual matches), while going an impressive 14-4 in doubles action (10-2 with Vogt). On Saturday, the junior earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Stony Brook's Rick Timmerman in Bryant's only match of the week. This is Parziale's seventh NEC weekly/monthly honor of his career.
Vogt, the NEC Rookie of the Week, is well on his way to solidifying himself as a dominate force in the NEC for years to come putting up a 9-8 overall singles mark and a 10-7 doubles record this season. The freshman continued his strong play on Saturday with a 7-6, 6-2 win at #3 singles over Stony Brook's Jose Morales as the Bulldogs swept the Seawolves, 4-0. This is Vogt's second career weekly/monthly honor, winning NEC Player/Rookie of the month back in November.
The Bulldogs will continue Spring Break play with three matches in three days against Villanova, Mount St. Mary's and Georgetown, all beginning Wednesday afternoon.
