Bulldogs top The Mount, 4-3, Thursday

BRYANT REMAINS UNBEATEN IN NEC, TOPPING THE MOUNT, 4-3, THURSDAY

SMITHFIELD, R.I. –  After falling behind early, the Bryant University men's tennis team came back to win four of the six singles matches to remain unbeaten in the Northeast Conference, topping Mount St. Mary's, 4-3, Thursday afternoon.

In doubles play, the duo of Zachary Morris (Garden City, N.Y.) and Dana Parziale (Pinehurst, N.C.) defeated Matthew Black and Taylor Pace handily, 8-2, in the first position, however the Mountaineers secured the double's point with victories in the #2 and #3 positions.

In singles, the Bulldogs put up a great performance as Morris continued his stellar play as of late, coming  from behind to top Blake, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, in the number one spot. Parizale and senior Vidith Huot (Providence, R.I.) earned points for the Black and Gold in the #3 and #4 singles positions as Parziale defeated Mike Salomon, 6-2, 6-2, and Huot beat Austin Blake, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-3. Freshman Guillaume Sabourin (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) secured the winning point for Bryant, topping Mike Zabetakis in three sets, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.

With the victory, Bryant improves to 5-5 overall, but more importantly 2-0 in the NEC. The Bulldogs will close out their road trip on Friday against Big East foe Georgetown.
