SMITHFIELD, RI – The Bryant University softball team swept both games from American International College by a score of 14-1 in five innings and 6-5 in eight innings in Northeast-10 Conference games played today at the Bryant Softball Complex.

Game one saw Bryant (9-7, 6-0 NE-10) explode for 11 runs in the fourth inning to take home the win. Deidre Kittredge (Worcester, Mass.) had two hits in the inning including a double and Lindsay Connor (West Haven) also had two for the win for the Bulldogs.

Kittredge finished the game 4-for-4 with four RBIs and a double while Connor finished the game going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) got the win for Bryant throwing a complete game allowing one run on two hits with four strikeouts. Marissa Markieiwcz took the loss for AIC (3-9, 0-4 NE-10).

Game two was played much closer with the score tied at four after five. The Bulldogs would score in the bottom of sixth to make it 5-4 when an error allowed Holly McCarthy (Framingham, Mass.). The Yellow Jackets tied the game in the top of seventh on a single from Theresa Delmore to plate Nicole Siciliano.

Bryant would get the win in the bottom of the eight when Bri Durborow (Ringoes, NJ) off an RBI single from Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) Gagne finished the game 4-for-5 and two runs.

Jen Bernier (Rehoboth, Mass.) got the win for Bryant while Melissa Nickerson took the loss.

Bryant will return to action on Wednesday, April 6 when the Bulldogs host Assumption at 3:00OM.
