SMITHFIELD, RI – The Bryant University softball team swept a double-header from Stonehill College 10-1 and 7-0 in Northeast-10 Conference games played today at the Bryant Softball Complex.

Deidre Kittredge (Worcester, Mass.) led the way for Bryant (4-5, 2-0 NE-10) going a combined 6-for-8 with two RBIs and two runs scored. She also added a triple in each game.

Game one saw the Bulldogs use a six run second inning to take control early. After getting hit by a pitch, Diane Cummings (Westwood, Mass.) would come around to score on singles by Holly McCarthy (Framingham, Mass.), Bri Durborow (Ringoes, NJ), and Carly Muse (Hanson, Mass.),

Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) pitched six strong innings allowing no earned runs and striking out two to get the win. Tracey Cidlevich took the loss for Stonehill allowing seven run on seven hits while striking out two.

Game two saw Bryant end the game in sixth after exploding for six runs, thanks to a three-run triple by Lindsay Connor (West Haven Conn.) to end the Bryant sweep.

Jennifer Bernier (Rehoboth, Mass.) picked the win for the Bulldogs allowing only two hits in six innings while striking out two. Danielle Mason took the loss for Stonehill allowing seven runs on seven hits.

Bryant will return to action tomorrow when they host Franklin Pierce in a make-up game tomorrow. The double-header will start at 3:00PM at the Bryant Softball Complex.
