NCAA Softball Tournament Information Page - Le Moyne Wins Monday To Advance To Finals
Defending regional champion Le Moyne College rallied from down 2-0 to defeat C.W. Post 5-4 in the final game of the 2006 NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Softball Championship Monday after at Bryant University. The Dolphins, who defeated the Pioneers in last year's final, will now advance to the finals for the second year in-a-row. The finals will be held May 18-22 in Salem, Virginia.

Adelphi Defeats Bryant Softball 5-3 Friday
SMITHFIELD, RI - Adelphi broke open a 1-1 game with four runs in the top of the seventh and withstood a late Bryant rally to defeat the Bulldogs 5-3 in an elimination game Friday at the Bryant Softball Complex. Bryant ends its season with a record of 29-18.

Seven Bulldogs Named All-Conference in Softball in 2006; Jordan Dargon Named Player of the Year
Smithfield, RI The Bryant University softball team placed seven players on the 2006 Northeast-10 All-Conference Softball team announced during the conference's championship this past weekend. Senior captain Jordan Dargon (Trumbull, CT) was named to the All-Conference first team and the 2006 Northeast-10 Player of the Year. Six other Bulldogs found their names amongst the best this year on the first, second, and third teams.

SMITHFIELD, RI - The 2006 Northeast-10 Conference Champion Bryant University Softball team will host the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Championship this weekend at the Bryant Softball Complex. The Bulldogs (29-16) will be making their third-straight appearance in the NCAA tournament and will serve as host of the regional for the second time in three years. The double elimination tournament will start Thursday at the Bryant Softball Complex.

Bryant Softball Wins Northeast-10 Conference Championship With 5-4 Win Over Lowell Sunday
SMITHFIELD,RI - The Bryant University softball team captured its second-straight Northeast-10 Conference Softball tournament championship in thrilling fashion Sunday as the Bulldogs pulled out a pair of dramatic wins over UMass Lowell in the title game. The Bulldogs took the hard road to win the title, defeating Southern Connecticut in the opener and then proceeded to win the first matchup with the River Hawks 6-5 as Vicci Duane hit a walk-off home run to force a deciding championship. In the final, Bryant's Jessica Valentini doubled off the center field fence to score Duane in the bottom of the eighth sending the Bulldogs to the NCAA tournament for the second-straight year. Bryant Softball Falls to Lowell 6-3 Saturday; Bulldogs Play Southern Connecticut 10 am Sunday
SMITHFIELD,RI - The Bryant softball fell to UMass Lowell Saturday, 6-3 as the Bulldogs will now play Southern Connecticut Sunday morning in an elimination game of the 2006 Northeast-10 Conference Softball Tournament. Sunday's game starts at 10 am with the winner to face Lowell at noon.

#4 Bryant Softball Splits With Le Moyne; Register Third Consecutive 25+ Win Season
Smithfield, RI The fourth ranked Bulldogs split a pair of games this afternoon with Le Moyne in Syracuse, New York. Bryant took game one, 3-1, but fell in game two by the score of 3-1. Bryant finishes the season 25-15 overall and 23-5 in the NE-10. This marks the third straight season the team has registered at least 25 wins. The 23 wins in conference play is a school record.

#4 Bryant Softball Splits Doubleheader with Saint Michaels; Clinches First Ever Regular Season Northeast-10 Title
Smithfield, RI The fourth ranked Bulldogs split a pair of games this afternoon with Saint Michaels at the Bryant Softball Complex. With the win in game one, the Bulldogs have clinched the programs first ever regular season Northeast-10 Conference title. Bryant took game one, 6-2, but fell in game two by the score of 8-3. Bryant improves to 24-14 overall and 22-4 in the NE-10 while Saint Michaels goes to 15-23 overall and 9-15 in conference play. The Bulldogs have won 21 of their last 24 games including an 11 game winning streak during that span.

Fourth Ranked Bryant Softball Sweeps UMass Lowell 4-2, 11-6
Smithfield, RI Nearly an hour after the Bryant Softball team learned they were ranked fourth in the region, the highest ranking in school history; they continued their winning ways with a two game sweep over UMass Lowell. They won Game One, 4-2, and picked up a win for the sweep in Game Two by the score of 11-6. Bryant improves to 23-13 overall and 21-3 good for first place in the Northeast-10. The Bulldogs have now won 10 games in a row and 20 of their last 22.

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Junior Lindsay Connor (West Haven, CT) went a combined 5-for-7 with three RBI to lead Bryant University to a doubleheader sweep of The Southern New Hampshire University here today in Northeast-10 Conference softball action. Bryant, which has now won 18 of its last 20 games, improved to 21-13 overall and 19-3 in the league. SNHU, which had won 12 of 14 games prior to today, dropped to 14-16 overall and 13-5 in the NE-10.

Bryant Softball Sweeps Bentley 4-0, 11-2; Moves Into First Place
WALTHAM, Mass. Sophomore Jennifer Bernier (Rehoboth) authored a four-hit shutout in the opener and junior Nikki Ingalls (Westford) scattered seven hits in the second game as Bryant University remained hot, sweeping Bentley, 4-0 and 11-2, in a Northeast-10 Conference softball doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Bentley. Bryant, 11-1 in its last 12 games, improved to 19-13 overall (17-3 NE-10) and took sole possession of first place in the conference over idle UMass-Lowell. Bentley, after seeing its losing streak reach 11, fell to 4-29 overall and 1-17 in the NE-10.

Bryant would win both taking the first game 10-2 in six innings and the second game 12-4 in six innings. The Bulldogs are now 5-11 overall and 4-2 in conference play. The Hawks are 5-13 overall and 0-6 in the Northeast-10.

Smithfield, RI - The Bryant University softball team welcomed Assumption College to the Bryant Softball Complex for a double-header on Wednesday afternoon. This was the Northeast-10 Conference opener for both teams. Bryant would take the first game 10-0 in six innings, but would drop the second game 3-0 in six innings (darkness). The Bulldogs are now 2-8 overall and 1-1 in conference play. The Greyhounds are 10-8 overall and are also 1-1 in the Northeast-10.

SMITHFIELD, RI - After dropping the opener 3-2, the Bryant University softball team came back strong to win the second, 10-2 in five innings to earn a non-conference split with No. 16 Caldwell College Sunday afternoon. Caldwell, picked first in the CACC Conference this season, captured the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship back in 2004.

Busy Weekend Ahead As Women's Tennis, Softball, and Baseball Host Home Events
SMITHFIELD, RI -- With the spring sports season officially well underway, it will be a busy weekend around the Bryant campus as the Bulldog baseball, softball, women's tennis will all be in action while track & field will hold an intrasquad meet in preparation for the upcoming outdoor season. Women's tennis, winners of 26-straight Northeast-10 Conference matches dating back to 2004, will host Saint Rose at the new Bryant tennis courts on Saturday at 1 pm. Softball looks for its first win of the season hosting Caldwell for a doubleheader Sunday starting at noon while baseball hosts Caldwell and Bentley Sunday starting at 11:30 am.

Bryan University Softball Drops Two Close Games on Sunday, End Road Trip
Lakeland, FL - The Bryant University softball team dropped two one run ball games on Sunday as they finished their six game road trip in the Sunshine State. Bryant fell to #3 Florida Southern 5-4 followed by a tough extra inning 3-2 loss to Hillsdale. The Bulldogs return to Smithfield for their home opener on Sunday when they will host Caldwell at noon.

Lakeland, FL - The Bryant University softball team began their 2006 campaign with a trip to Florida to face off with six different teams. Southern Arkansas defeated Bryant in game one 5-3 followed by an 11-2 defeat by Tampa. The Bulldogs resume play today with games against Armstrong and Delta State.

Smithfield, RI Bryant University softball player, Jordan Dargon has been named Northeast-10 Player of the week for her outstanding performance over the past week. A senior from Trumbull, CT, Jordan does not only lead the Bulldogs with her bat but also as a captain.

Bryant Softball Sweeps Double Header with Saint Anselm
Smithfield, RI - The Bryant University softball team welcomed Saint Anselm to the Bryant Softball Complex for a double-header on a blistery Tuesday afternoon. Bryant would win both taking the first game 10-2 in six innings and the second game 12-4 in six innings. The Bulldogs are now 5-11 overall and 4-2 in conference play. The Hawks are 5-13 overall and 0-6 in the Northeast-10.

Adelphi Takes Doubleheader from Bulldogs in Non-Conference Softball Action Sunday
GARDEN CITY, NY - The Bryant University softball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader Sunday at Adelphi University, falling 4-3 and 8-3 to drop to 3-11 overall on the year.

Bryant Softball Splits Double-Header with Saint Rose
Rotterdam, NY - The Bryant softball team split a pair of games on Saturday with Saint Rose. The Bulldogs lost the first game 3-1 and the rallied to win the second game 14-1 in five innings. Bryant is now 3-9 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

Bryant Softball Splits a Pair with Assumption
Smithfield, RI - The Bryant University softball team welcomed Assumption College to the Bryant Softball Complex for a double-header on Wednesday afternoon. This was the Northeast-10 Conference opener for both teams. Bryant would take the first game 10-0 in six innings, but would drop the second game 3-0 in six innings (darkness). The Bulldogs are now 2-8 overall and 1-1 in conference play. The Greyhounds are 10-8 overall and are also 1-1 in the Northeast-10.

Softball Splits With 16th-ranked Caldwell College Sunday
SMITHFIELD, RI - After dropping the opener 3-2, the Bryant University softball team came back strong to win the second, 10-2 in five innings to earn a non-conference split with No. 16 Caldwell College Sunday afternoon. Caldwell, picked first in the CACC Conference this season, captured the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship back in 2004.

Busy Weekend Ahead As Women's Tennis, Softball, and Baseball Host Home Events
SMITHFIELD, RI -- With the spring sports season officially well underway, it will be a busy weekend around the Bryant campus as the Bulldog baseball, softball, women's tennis will all be in action while track & field will hold an intrasquad meet in preparation for the upcoming outdoor season. Women's tennis, winners of 26-straight Northeast-10 Conference matches dating back to 2004, will host Saint Rose at the new Bryant tennis courts on Saturday at 1 pm. Softball looks for its first win of the season hosting Caldwell for a doubleheader Sunday starting at noon while baseball hosts Caldwell and Bentley Sunday starting at 11:30 am.

Bryan University Softball Drops Two Close Games on Sunday, End Road Trip
Lakeland, FL - The Bryant University softball team dropped two one run ball games on Sunday as they finished their six game road trip in the Sunshine State. Bryant fell to #3 Florida Southern 5-4 followed by a tough extra inning 3-2 loss to Hillsdale. The Bulldogs return to Smithfield for their home opener on Sunday when they will host Caldwell at noon.

Bryant University Softball drops Season Opener 5-3
Lakeland, FL - The Bryant University softball team began their 2006 campaign with a trip to Florida to face off with six different teams. Southern Arkansas defeated Bryant in game one 5-3 followed by an 11-2 defeat by Tampa. The Bulldogs resume play today with games against Armstrong and Delta State.

Bryant University Softball Chosen Second in 2006 Softball Preseason Coaches' Poll
South Easton, MA - The Bryant University Softball team was picked to finish second this season in the Northeast-10 according to the 2006 Softball Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Bulldogs are coming off their most successful season including their first ever Northeast-10 Tournament title. They finished the 2005 season with a record of 29-17.

Bryant Softball Swings into Action in Florida, Season Preview
Smithfield, RI - The Bryant University Softball team heads to Florida on March 17 for six games as they begin their 2006 season. The Bulldogs are coming off the program?s most successful season by winning 29 games and making it to the NCAA tournament for a second straight season. They also won the programs first ever Northeast-10 Conference Tournament Championship.

Carly Muise Honored By NCAA At Woman of the Year Awards Dinner
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Bryant University graduate Carly Muise '06 of Hanson, Mass. was honored Friday at the NCAA Woman of the Year Awards Dinner in Indianapolis. Muise, a former softball standout, was one of 51 honorees from across the country, covering all divisions.

Carly Muise Named NCAA Woman of the Year For State of Rhode Island
SMITHFIELD, RI - Former softball standout Carly Muise has been named the NCAA Woman of the Year for the State of Rhode Island announced this week by the NCAA. A first team all-conference selection, Muise was named the Bryant University Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2005 and was named Academic All-American this past spring.
