Bryant Softball Eliminated By C.W. Post 4-1 in NCAA's Northeast Regional Final
BROOKVILLE, NY - The Bryant Bulldogs' magical run through the NCAA Northeast Regionals ended this afternoon with a 4-1 loss to tournament host and #2 seed C.W. Post. The Pioneers jumped on Bryant early, and rode pitcher Samantha Yodowitz to the win and a trip to the College World Series. The Bulldogs mounted a late rally in the seventh, when pinch-hitter Stephanie Mirando (North Haven, CT) drove in Kate Thomas (Bedford, NH). But the Bulldogs lost two runners on the basepaths, catcher Ashley Coon (Fairless Hills, PA) on runner's interference and Jennifer Serrano (Stoneham, Mass.) attempting to go from first to third on a single. The Pioneers jumped out in front in the first inning. Second baseman Serrano muffed a throw from pitcher Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) to allow leadoff hitter Melissa Medina to reach. After Jill Fisher singled, Medina would come home on a Melissa Hippo sacrifice fly. Enos would strike out the next batter, Christie Softy, to end the inning.

#6 Bulldogs Emerge From NCAA Northeast Regionals' Loser's Bracket with 2-0 Win Over #8 UMass-Lowell; Face #2 C.W. Post Today at 3:30pm
BROOKVILLE, NY - #8 UMass-Lowell gave the #6 Bryant Bulldogs a few opportunities, and the Bulldogs jumped on them to capture a 2-0 win and trip to the NCAA's Northeast Regional final game with C.W. Post. Junior pitcher Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) won her fourth game of the NCAA Tournament, tossing a complete game shutout. Jennifer Serrano (Stoneham, Mass.) came up with another clutch hit to break a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth. Pitcher Kristen Mahoney dropped a seemingly routine pop fly to load the bases and extend the inning. On the next pitch, Serrano singled in Jessica Valentini (Cliffside Park, NJ). Mahoney then retired pinch-hitter Anne Dobmeier (Buffalo, NY) on a soft liner to third. The Bulldogs scored again an inning later, when Mahoney threw a wild pitch on the fourth ball of an intentional walk to Bryant slugger Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.). Lindsay Connor (West Haven, CT) was able to beat the throw home after singling to open the inning.

Bulldogs One of Only Three Northeast Region Teams Battling For Trip to College World Series
BROOKVILLE, NY - After winning three of their first four games in the NCAA Tournament, the Bryant Bulldogs are in position to win the Northeast Region for the first time in program history. After winning a pair of elimination games Saturday, the Bulldogs are one of only three teams remaining in the region. Bryant, the #6 seed in the region, defeated #4 Adelphi Saturday before beating #3 Dowling in the day's final game. The Bulldogs fought back from an early deficit to defeat Adelphi behind home runs from Jennifer Serrano (Stoneham, Mass.), Alison Chouinard (Swansea, Mass.) and two by Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.). Wilbur, Serrano, Chouinard Power #6 Bulldogs to 5-2 Win Over #4 Adelphi AT NCAA Regionals; Will Face #3 Dowling Later Today
BROOKVILLE, NY - 2007 Northeast-10 Player of the Year Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) put the Bulldogs on her back Saturday, and carried #6 Bryant to a 4-2 win over Adelphi. Wilbur's two home runs kept the Bulldogs alive in the NCAA Tournament's Northeast Regional. The Bulldogs emerged from an early deficit behind the timely power hitting of Wilbur, Alison Chouinard (Swansea, Mass.) and Jennifer Serrano (Stoneham, Mass.) and the solid pitching of Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.). The Bulldogs fell behind early again, allowing a run in the first inning for the third straight NCAA game when Diana DiPiano rolled a slow grounder between second baseman Serrano and Briana Durborow (Ringoes, NJ) to score Samantha Johnston. The Bulldogs averted further damage when right fielder Kate Thomas (Bedford, Mass.) made a beautiful sliding catch on a Julie Schaper pop up and Enos retired Alana daSilva to strand runners on second and third. The Bulldogs grabbed the lead in the fourth, when Wilbur launched her first home run off Adelphi starter Sheila Feldman. The blast cleared the outfield grandstands behind the 190-foot marker. Three batters later, Serrano drove a three-two, two-out pitch over the left center field wall for a two-run home run.

#6 Bulldogs Defeat #3 Dowling for Second Time in Three Days to Advance in NCAA Regionals; Face UMass-Lowell Sunday at 1pm
BROOKVILLE, NY - Behind a balanced offensive attack, and a gritty pitching performance from Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.), the #6 seed Bryant Bulldogs defeated #3 Dowling 6-0 to advance to Sunday play at the Northeast Regionals of the NCAA Softball Tournament. On a day that saw three more teams eliminated, the Bulldogs were the only team to emerge from the loser's bracket and advance to Sunday action. The Bulldogs are now one of only three teams in the region with a chance to advance to the Division II College World Series in Akron, Ohio next weekend. Enos was masterful in her second start of the day and third in just over 24 hours. The junior shut down the Golden Lions for 5.2 innings, allowing 7 hits. She was relieved by senior Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) in the top of the sixth inning. Ingalls would get the last four batters of the game out in order, to finish the win.

C.W. Post Hands Bryant 5-1 Loss at the NCAA's Northeast Regional Friday
BROOKVILLE, NY - C.W. Post's powerful offense grabbed the lead early, and pitcher Samantha Yodowitz shut down the Bulldogs to give the Pioneers a 5-1 win Friday afternoon in the NCAA Tournament's Northeast Regional. The Pioneers jumped on Bryant starter Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass) early, when Melissa Hippo smacked a two-run home run to left center. Two innings later, Hippo would single in another run before Christie Softy drove in the fourth run with a sacrifice fly. Enos was in trouble all day, allowing five earned runs on nine hits in 3.2 innings. After Kelsey Dooley knocked in Post's fifth run of the game, Enos was pulled in favor of senior Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.).

Connor Collects 200th Career Hit; Bulldogs Defeat Dowling 6-2 in NCAA Opener
BROOKVILLE, NY - The record-breaking senior class of the Bryant Bulldogs turned in an impressive performance in today's NCAA Regional opener, powering the Bulldogs to a 6-2 win over Dowling. Seniors Lindsay Connor (West Haven, CT), Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.), Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.), and Briana Durborow (Ringoes, NJ) all notched hits in the win. Gagne was 3 of 4 with 2 RBI in the victory. Junior Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) turned in a strong performance, going the distance and allowing just 5 hits and 2 runs to put the Bulldogs into the winner's bracket of the NCAA Tournament. It was also an historic day for senior Connor, who roped a double to right field in the sixth for her 200th career hit. She joins teammate Wilbur as the only two Bulldogs in history with that many hits.

Bullodgs Selected To Fourth Straight NCAA Tournament as #6 Seed in Northeast Region
Smithfield, RI - The Bryant Bulldogs softball team has been selected to the 2007 NCAA Division II Tournament as the #6 seed in the northeast region. It will be the fourth consecutive year the Bulldogs have made the tournament. The Bulldogs will travel to Brookville, NY where #2 seed C.W Post will host the tournament. Bryant's first game will be on Thursday morning at 9am against #3 seed Dowling. The Bulldogs were 1-2 in this past weekend's NE-10 Conference tournament and finished with a 24-16 record on the season (19-9 in conference). Dowling is 36-6 on the season and fresh off an East Coast Conference Tournament championship.

Bulldogs Eliminated From NE-10 Tournament, 2-0 By Le Moyne
SYRACUSE, NY - After winning their first game Saturday, the Bulldogs were defeated by regular season champion Le Moyne in the second game. With the loss, the Bulldogs are eliminated from the NE-10 Tournament. Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) pitched her second gem of the day, but was beaten by two sacrifice flies in the bottom of the sixth inning. In that frame, the Dolphins loaded the bases with no one out. Enos then allowed a sacrifice fly to Jennifer Farrelly to put the Dolphins up by one. The next batter, Emma Murphy, also lofted a fly to rightfielder Kate Thomas (Bedford, NH), but she came up throwing and nearly got Bailey Phillips at the plate. Marth Senko went the distance for the Dolphins, scattering six hits in the shutout and striking out three. She got out of several key jams, including one in the sixth with two on and two out. Bryant will now have to wait to find out if they made the NCAA Tournament Monday morning at 8am.

Bulldogs Stay Alive at NE-10 Softball Tournament
SYRACUSE, NY - A two-out rally in the top of the sixth kept the Bulldogs alive at the Northeast-10 Tournament and potentially saved their season. Battling for their third straight NE-10 tournament championship and fourth straight trip to the NCAA tournament, the Bulldogs plated three runs in the top of the sixth behind freshman Ashley Coon (Fairless Hills, PA) and senior Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.). Wilbur, named Northeast-10 Player of the Year Friday night, laced a game tying double in the sixth inning before Coon scored Wilbur and Jessica Valentini (Cliffside Park, NJ) with the go-ahead runs. Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) turned in a gutty performance, going the full seven innings and getting out of several key jams. After taking the lead, Enos was able to work around a lead-off double by Felicia Brum to strand her with two strikeouts and a fly out.

Bulldogs Set to Face Southern New Hampshire After Upset-Filled Day One
SYRACUSE, NY - After an upset-filled first day of action at the Northeast-10 Tournament, the Bulldogs will look to stave off elimination Saturday against the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire at noon. After the first day of competition, the tournament's two lowest seeds (UMass-Lowell and Merrimack) are undefeated while the top four seeds make up the loser's bracket. If Bryant wins their first game Saturday, they will move on to play the winner of the Le Moyne-Southern Connecticut game at 3:30pm. If they were to lose, they would be eliminated from the tournament. For those attending the game, please note that the game will be held at the primary site on Le Moyne's campus. With the Dolphins loss, they forfeit the home field advantage and will be moved to the secondary site where Bryant was initially scheduled to play.

Softball Falls to UMass-Lowell 8-4 in Rollercoaster Opener at NE-10 Tournament
SYRACUSE, NY - The Bulldogs' defense of their 2005 and 2006 Northeast-10 Conference Tournament championships got off to rocky start as they dropped a rollercoaster opening game to UMass-Lowell 8-4. Bryant starter Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) immediately ran into trouble in the first inning. The leadoff hitter, Vikki Guido, legged out an infield single before advancing to second on a passed ball and third on a sacrifice bunt. Ingalls then hit Jacquel Guanci and Stacy Lajoie reached on an wild throw from Ingalls that pulled first baseman Briana Durborow (Ringoes, NJ) off the bag. However, Ingalls then got Laurie Tanguay to hit into a 1-2-3 double play to get out of trouble. Ingalls, though wouldn't be as lucky in the fifth when Guido knocked a 2-run, 2-out home run to right center to give the Riverhawks a 3-0 lead.

Bulldog Outfielder Amanda Wilbur Named Northeast-10 Player of the Year; Gagne and Enos Voted Third Team
SYRACUSE, NY - Bryant senior Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) was named the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year. Wilbur became the third Bulldog in as many years to win the award, following of the footsteps of Deidre Kittredge and current assistant coach Jordan Dargon. The outfielder led the Bulldogs all year with a .403 average, 8 home runs, 33 RBI and a .718 slugging percentage. Wilbur has also played exceptional defense in center field, and at shortstop in several games. Wilbur was also named to the All-Conference First team. Joining her on the All-Conference team are third teamers Janine Enos and Amanda Gagne.

Bryant Ready to Defend NE-10 Conference Tournament Championship This Weekend
The Bulldogs will begin defense of their 2005 and 2006 NE-10 Conference tournament championships this Friday with a 12noon game against UMass-Lowell. The Bulldogs will be the the #4 seed in the tournament, and would play #1 seed Le Moyne immediately after their first game Friday. If the team were to lose, they woudld return to action at noon Saturday. The Bulldogs are 6-4 against the competition this season and several Bulldogs have enjoyed tremendous success against the teams. Wilbur Records Record 200th Hit: Bulldogs Sweep Falcons in Regular Season Finale
SMITHFIELD, RI - Amanda Wilbur's (Lakeville, Mass.) 200th hit capped a tremendous afternoon for the Bulldogs as they got back on the winning track with a pair of wins over archrival Bentley. The Bulldogs took the first game 13-0 in five innings, powered by a 10-run fourth inning that put the Bulldogs in command. Game two was a pitching duel between Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) and Ashley Messina. The difference were RBI singles by Lindsay Conner (West Haven, CT) and Briana Durborow (Ringoes, NJ). The Bulldogs snapped out of a three-game losing streak in a big way with the victory in game 1. Bryant jumped out early on an Ashley Coon (Fairless Hills, PA) sacrifice fly in the first inning and an RBI single by Wilbur and fielder's choice by Coon, but the Bulldogs broke the game open in the fourth. The highlight of the inning was Durborow, who hit two triples to almost the identical spot in right center field, each driving in a run. The Bulldogs pounded out 7 hits in the error and were aided by 2 Falcon errors, and a pair of wild pitches.

Saint Michael's Sweeps Softball; Sets Up Crucial Doubleheader With Bentley Tuesday
Saint Michael's took a pair of games from Bryant on a cold, drizzly Sunday afternoon in Colchester, Vermont. After losing a squeeker 4-3 in the first game, the Bulldogs were handled easily in the nightcap, 7-2. The pair of losses drops the team's record to 17-9, tied in the loss column with UMass-Lowell, who Bryant defeated twice a week and a half ago. Junior Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) lost a pitching duel to Knights' starter Meggan Roberge in the first game of the doubleheader. The Bulldogs jumped out early on a two-run home run by Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) in the first inning. However, the Bulldogs could not hold the lead. Back-to-back home runs by Meg Currier and Ashley Harkins in the second inning tied the game up, and a Lindsey Howland lead off homer in the third put the Knights ahead.

Bulldogs Split Doubleheader with Saint Anselm in Manchester
On the last day of a rugged four-day, eight-game stretch, the Bulldogs salvaged a split with the Hawks of Saint Anselm Tuesday afternoon in Manchester, NH. Junior Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) went ten innings in the first game, as a 2-run tenth inning propelled the Bulldogs to victory. In game two, the Bulldogs squandered a 1-0 lead when the Hawks pushed across a pair of runs in the sixth inning and held on for a 2-1 win. Enos (9-6) was forced to go ten innings after Lindsay Connor (West Haven, CT) tied the game with an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning. The Bulldogs then loaded the bases with two outs before Michaella Mahoney got Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) to pop up to end the threat. But Wilbur would have her revenge three innings later when her RBI triple scored Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) with the go ahead run. Wilbur then scored the eventual winning run when she came home on a Kate Thomas (Bedford, Mass.) sacrifice fly.

Softball Gets Back on the Winning Track With Sweep of Merrimack
After a rough weekend in which they lost three of four games to St. Rose and Le Moyne, the Bulldog softball team got back in the win column with a 2-game sweep of Merrimack. The Dogs took the first contest 3-0 behind a shutout from Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.). The Bulldogs bats came alive in the second game, belting out 14 hits in an 18-4 win. Enos (8-6) turned in a strong outting, going seven innings, scattering three hits and striking out five warriors. The Bulldogs jumped ahead in the first inning on an Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) RBI single that scored Lindsay Connor (West Haven, CT). The Bulldogs would tack on a second on a Briana Durborow (Ringoes, NJ) RBI single and would not look back in the win. In the second, Anne Dobmeier (Buffalo, NY) got her fourth (4-1) win of the season. Four Bulldogs turned in multiple hit games, led by Connor who was two for three with two runs scored. Senior Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) was three for three with two RBI.

Dolphins Take Two From Bryant on Senior Day
The Le Moyne Dolphins took both games of a Sunday afternoon doubleheader at the Bryant Softball Complex by identical 5-2 scores. The Bulldogs held a lead in game one before a 3-run outburst in the sixth inning but the Dolphins ahead to stay. In Game two, Le Moyne grabbed a 4-0 lead in the third inning and never gave it up. Bryant will return to action Monday with a 3pm doubleheader with Merrimack at the Bryant Softball Complex.

Softball Splits Home Doubleheader With St. Rose Saturday
St. Rose pitcher Kristen Callahan took a perfect game into the seventh inning, before senior Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) broke it up with one out in the inning. Gagne, then advanced to second, but was stranded as the Bulldogs fell 1-0. The team rebounded in game two behind a sterling pitching performance by Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass) to win 2-0 at the Bryant Softball Complex. Ingalls (8-3) hurled a complete game one-hitter to win her fourth straight decision in the second game. The Bulldogs scraped out just enough offense on a Stephanie Mirando (North Haven, CT) RBI single in the fourth, and a soaring home run by Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.). Wilbur stayed hot, going 2 of 3 and scoring both runs.

Bryant Sweeps Two From the Riverhawks at UMass-Lowell
The Bulldogs took two crucial Northeast-10 conference games in a doubleheader of sweep behind the offense of senior Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) and the pitching of senior Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) and Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.). Enos (7-4) outdueled UML's Kristen Mahoney 1-0 in the opener, and Gagne went 3 of 4 in a 6-2 win in the nightcap. The first game was knotted at zero for the first five innings before a Stephanie Mirando (North Haven, CT) brought home Alison Chouinard (Swansea, Mass.) in the top of the sixth inning. Riverhawk batters could muster little against Enos. The junior scattered three hits didn't walk a batter, and struck out five. Freshman catcher Ashley Coon (Fairless Hills, PA) was on base three times on a hit and two walks for the Bulldogs.

Senior Outfielder Re-Writes Bryant Record Books
2007's senior class of Bulldogs has been setting both individual and team records for four years, and already in 2007 Amanda Wilbur has broken four school offensive records and established herself as one of the premier female athletes to pass through Bryant in recent years. She entered the season as Bryant's all-time leader in home runs with 14, and has added 6 more bombs to that total. She also has passed Connor on the all-time hits list. In addition to those categories, her 105 RBI, 186 total bases, and 118 runs scored are also school records.

Bulldogs Move Up To Fifth in Latest NCAA/Division II Regional Rankings
The Bryant Bulldogs softball team has moved up four places in this week's NCAA/Division II regional poll from 9th place to 5th after a 3-1 week of play. The Bulldogs have beaten three of the four teams ranked ahead of them already this season. They defeated #1 Southern Connecticut State on April 3, #3 C.W. Post on April 1, and #4 Adelphi on April 5. The Bulldogs will welcome the #2 Le Moyne Dolphins to the Bryant Softball Complex this Sunday for the team's 2007 Senior Day.

Bulldogs Rally for Victory in First Game, Fall Short in Second to Split Doubleheader with SNHU
In an up-and-down afternoon at the Bryant Softball Complex, the Bulldogs salvaged a split of a doubleheader with Southern New Hampshire. The Bulldogs rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Penmen in game one, but a frantic Bulldog rally fell just short in game two, as SNHU escaped with a 7-6 win. The Penmen jumped on starter Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) for an unearned run in the first inning, and Penman starter Ashley Smith shut down the Bulldogs for the first five innings. Ingalls (6-3) would allow another unearned run in the fifth, before the Bulldogs rallied in the sixth.

Bulldogs Take Two From Stonehill in Wednesday Afternoon Action
The Bryant Bulldogs swept a doubleheader from the Stonehill Skyhawks 2-0 and 12-7 Wednesday afternoon in Easton, Mass. Junior Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) shut down the Skyhawks on 2 hits in the opening game. Enos (6-3) struck out seven on the afternoon and only walked one. Freshman Ashley Coon (Fairless Hills, PA) drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fourth to give the Bulldogs all the offense they would need. Seniors Lindsay Connor (West Haven, CT) and Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) each notched two hits ont he afternoon for the Bulldogs.

Four Bulldogs named to NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll
Four Bulldogs were named to the Weekly Northeast-10 Honor Roll this week. Seniors Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) and Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) and juniors Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) and Jessica Valentini (Cliffside Park, NJ) were recognized for their excellent weeks. The Bulldogs finished the week 4-2 and are currently second in the NE-10 with an 8-2 conference record. The Bulldogs visit Stonehill (6-12, 5-3 NE-10) this Wednesday.

Bulldogs Split Afternoon Doubleheader with AIC
SMITHFIELD, RI- The Bulldogs softball team split a Monday afternoon doubleheader with the American International Yellow Jackets. The Yellow Jackets overpowered Bryant starter Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) in the first game and shut down the Bryant offense for a 7-0 win. The Bulldogs salvaged a split behind the pitching of Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) and the offense of Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) in a 5-2 win. The Yellow Jackets pounded 13 hits off the starter Ingalls (5-3), and five more off reliever Anne Dobmeier to take home a 7-0 win in game one. Michelle Franey (3 for 5, 1 RBI) and Brittany Provost (3 of 4, 2 RBI, 1 run), and Deanna Zanetti (3 for 4, 1 RBI, 2 runs) led a balanced offensive attack.

Bryant Softball Sweeps Doubleheader with Franklin Pierce
Seniors Amanda Wilbur (Lakevill, Mass.) and Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) powered the Bulldogs to a two-game sweep over the Franklin Pierce Ravens Saturday afternoon at the Bulldog Softball Complex. Wilbur was 4 of 4 with 5 RBI in the first game including a 3-run, walkoff home run in game one, won 8-0. Gagne's 3-run triple in the fifth inning of game 2 broke the game open for the home team in a 10-2 win.

Bryant Softball Splits Doubleheader With Adelphi
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University softball team battled freezing temperatures and withstood a snow delay Thursday, but in the end managed to earn a split with visiting Adelphi at the Bryant Softball Complex. Softball Earns Split With Southern Connecticut Tuesday; Bulldogs Host Adelphi Thursday
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bryant University softball team picked up a split with Southern Connecticut Tuesday afternoon in New Haven. The Bulldogs earned a 1-0 win in the opener but dropped a 5-4 decision in the nightcap. Allison Chouinard drove in the game-winning run in the first game and added a grand slam in the second to lead the Bulldogs offensively .The Bulldogs host Adelphi Thursday.

Bryant Splits Doubleheader with C.W. Post
The C.W. Post Pioneers roughed up Bryant ace Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) in a 5-0 win in the opener of a doubleheader, but the Bulldogs' bats awoke in game two to salvage a split with a 7-6 win in game two. Enos (2-3) was touched up for five earned runs in six innings by the powerful Pioneer offense in game one. Samantha Yodowitz (14-4) shut out the Bulldogs on only four hits Seniors Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) and Lauren McNiff (Westford, Mass.), junior Jessica Valentini (RIGHT) (Cliffside Park, NJ), and freshman Alison Chouinard (Swansea, Mass.) all had homers for the Bulldogs in their 7-6 victory. Senior Nikki Ingalls (4-0) took the victory in a complete game.

Softball Sweeps Doubleheader at Pace, Ready for C.W. Post Sunday
Jessica Valentini (Cliffside Park, NJ) and Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) powered the Bulldog offense as the Bulldogs swept a doubleheader with NE-10 rival Pace University. The Bulldogs took the first game 5-1 behind the pitching of Junior Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) and Valentini who went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and an RBI. In the second game, transfer Anne Dobmeier captured her first victory as a Bulldog in a 4-3 win. Kate Thomas' (Bedford, NH) three-run home run in the top of the sixth was the difference.

Softball Sweeps Assumption in Home Opener 9-1, 8-0
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant Softball team opened its conference schedule and home schedule in style, defeating Assumption College 9-1 and 8-0 Thursday afternoon. Ali Chouinard led the way offensively, getting six hits and hitting her second home run in the doubleheader. Nikki Ingalls and Janine Enos each notched a win on the hill. The Bulldogs (4-3, 2-0 NE-10) will visit C.W. Post Sunday (noon.)

Softball's Trip To New Jersey Canceled, Games Will Not Be Made Up
Softball's Saturday doubleheader at Dominican and Sunday's doubleheader at Caldwell have been canceled due to unplayable conditions. The Bulldogs were scheduled to take on the teams in their first action since their 2-3 trip to the Florida Southern Invitational in Lakeland, Florida. The Bulldogs will return to action next Wednesday with a 3:00pm doubleheader at Assumption. The team's home opener against Adelphi is scheduled for April 5.

Softball Defeats Hillsdale 7-5, Falls to Florida Tech 6-5 in 10 Innings
In their final two games of the Florida Southern Invitational the Bryant Bulldogs defeated Hillsdale 7-5 and lost to Florida Tech in a ten-inning tie-breaker. Senior Nikki Ingalls notched her second win of the season, while the Bulldog offense was awakened after scoring only two runs in the first three games of the tournament. The Bulldogs were paced offensively by freshman Alison Chouinard, sophomore Jennifer Serrano and senior Briana Durborow. The Bulldogs finished the day with 12 runs and 24 hits on the day.

Gagne's Hitting, Enos' and Ingalls' Pitching Lead Bulldogs to Impressive Split at Florida Southern Invitational
Amanda Gagne's third inning home run was all the offense senior pitcher Nikki Ingalls and the Bulldogs would need to knock off the University of Tampa 2-0 Friday evening in Lakeland, Florida. Earlier in the day, the Bryant Bulldogs pushed #18 Florida Southern to the limit Friday before a late Moccasin rally propelled the team to victory in their own invitational tournament. Junior Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) (0-1) shut down the Moccasins for the first five innings before surrendering a pair of runs in the sixth.

Softball Opens Season Tonight against West Chester at Florida Southern Invitational
After being forced to cancel the team's scheduled opening tournament in Phoenix, Ariz. due to inclement weather, the Bulldog softball team will begin defense of their 2007 conference championship with a challenging week of play at the Florida Southern Invitational. Coach Lisa-Ann Wallace's team will face some of the finest program's in the country during five games in three days. The team will start play Thursday night with a 7pm game with West Chester University. The Golden Rams are 4-2 on the young season.

Bulldogs Drop Season Opener 7-0 to West Chester University in Lakeland, Florida
The Bulldogs dropped the first game of the Florida Southern Invitational to West Chester University by a score of 7-0. The Rams started the scoring early, plating two runs apiece in the first and second innings off Bryant starter Anne Dobmeier (Buffalo, NY). Dobmeier (0-1), a transfer from St. Andrew's Presbyterian in North Carolina, was greeted rudely in her Bryant debut. She ended up allowing 7 hits in five innings while giving up seven runs (only four earned). Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) pitched two perfect innings in relief of Dobmeier with two strikeouts. The Bulldogs were unable to figure out West Chester starter Shannon Padula (6-1). The sophomore righthander held the Bulldogs to 5 hits in a complete game shutout.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Winter weather is the focus this week on the Pat Sullivan show. The northeastern blizzard left both basketball teams stranded in Vermont for one extra day, so Sullivan was unable to sit down with the coaches. Softball's Trip to Arizona Canceled due to Inclement Weather
SMITHFIELD,RI- The Bryant Softball's trip to the Schutt Sports/Division II/Lead Off Classic has been canceled due to inclement weather in the northeast. Severe winter weather has covered much of the northern United States and brought national air travel to a halt. The Bulldogs had been scheduled to play Cal-State Stanislaus and Grand Canyon University on Thursday and Abilene Christian University on Friday before beginning pool play Friday afternoon.

SOUTH EASTON, MASS. - The two-time defending NE-10 champion Bryant softball team was picked #2 in the Northeast-10 Preaseason Coaches' Poll. The Bulldogs received four of the fifteen first place votes. The Bulldog baseball team was picked sixth in the conference.

Schedule for Season-Opening Schutt Sports/Division II/ Lead Off Classic Announced
The Bryant softball team will kick off their 2007 campaign with a trip to Phoenix Arizona to compete in the Schutt Sports/Division II/ Lead Off Classic. The final schedule sees Bryant opening up play on Thursday, February 15 with games against Cal State Stanislaus and Grand Canyon University. The following day the Bulldogs are slated to play Abilene Christian University before tournament play begins Friday night.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association will honor 220 coaches with the Easton Victory Club, one of those coaches is Bryant Head Coach Lisa-Ann Wallace, who recorded her 200th win this past spring.

Softball Alumnae Return For Homecoming 2006
SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University softball alumnae joined coach Lisa-Ann Wallace and the current Bulldogs for Homecoming & Reunion Weekend Sept. 17 at the Bryant Softball Complex. All took part in the annual alumnae softball game which was followed by a BBQ and homecoming football game at the stadium. During halftime of the football game, the team was recognized for earning their third trip to the NCAA Championship in the past four years.
