The Bulldogs took two crucial Northeast-10 conference games in a doubleheader of sweep behind the offense of senior Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) and the pitching of senior Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) and Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.). Enos (7-4) outdueled UML's Kristen Mahoney 1-0 in the opener, and Gagne went 3 of 4 in a 6-2 win in the nightcap.

The first game was knotted at zero for the first five innings before a Stephanie Mirando (North Haven, CT) brought home Alison Chouinard (Swansea, Mass.) in the top of the sixth inning. Riverhawk batters could muster little against Enos. The junior scattered three hits didn't walk a batter, and struck out five.

Freshman catcher Ashley Coon (Fairless Hills, PA) was on base three times on a hit and two walks for the Bulldogs.

Ingalls turned in a strong outting for the Bulldogs in a homecoming of sorts (the senior hails from nearby Westford). Ingalls (7-3) scattered 9 hits and 2 earned runs to the Riverhawks in a complete game .

The game was tight before a 4-run fifth inning broke it open for Bryant.

Gagne led the way offensively for the Bulldogs, in addition to her 3 hits, she also scored a run and drove in another. Junior Jessica Valentini (Cliffside Park, NJ) was also 1 for 3 with a run and an RBI. Mirando and senior Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) also drove in runs in a 6-2 victory. Senior leadoff hitter Lindsay Connor (West Haven, CT) scored three runs in the victory.

The sweep took the Bulldogs' record to 17-8 and 13-3 in the Northeast-10. Bryant will pass the Riverhawks who were previously 10-2 in the conference standings. The Bulldogs return to action with a busy weekend: the team hosts St. Rose Saturday at noon, and Le Moyne at noon Sunday before hosting Merrimack in a rescheduled game Monday at 3pm.

Sunday's game against Le Moyne will feature the team's senior day festivities between games.
