On the last day of a rugged four-day, eight-game stretch, the Bulldogs salvaged a split with the Hawks of Saint Anselm Tuesday afternoon in Manchester, NH. Junior Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) went ten innings in the first game, as a 2-run tenth inning propelled the Bulldogs to victory. In game two, the Bulldogs squandered a 1-0 lead when the Hawks pushed across a pair of runs in the sixth inning and held on for a 2-1 win.

Enos (9-6) was forced to go ten innings after Lindsay Connor (West Haven, CT) tied the game with an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning. The Bulldogs then loaded the bases with two outs before Michaella Mahoney got Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) to pop up to end the threat.

with 2 triples Tuesday

But Wilbur would have her revenge three innings later when her RBI triple scored Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) with the go ahead run. Wilbur then scored the eventual winning run when she came home on a Kate Thomas (Bedford, Mass.) sacrifice fly.

Enos allowed a run in the bottom of the inning but was able to strand a runner at third by retiring the last two batters of the game.  She walked only one batter in ten innings and struck out three.

In game two, the Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead when Connor scored on a Jessica Valentini (Cliffside Park, NJ) fielder's choice. The Bulldogs then put two runners in scoring position before Megan Lemire got Thomas to line out to end the threat. That would be all Lemire would allow in a pitching duel with Bryant starter Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.).

The Hawks, though, would break through on Ingalls in the bottom of the sixth inning with the two winning runs. Ingalls struck out five in six innings in a hard-luck loss.

The Bulldogs are now 21-12 and 17-7 in the Northeast-10. They return to action Sunday with a doubleheader with NE-10 rival St. Michael's in Colchester, Vermont.
