Wilbur Hit Two Home Runs
against Adelphi Saturday

The Bulldogs emerged from an early deficit behind the timely power hitting of Wilbur, Alison Chouinard (Swansea, Mass.) and Jennifer Serrano (Stoneham, Mass.) and the solid pitching of Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.).
The Bulldogs fell behind early again, allowing a run in the first inning for the third straight NCAA game when Diana DiPiano rolled a slow grounder between second baseman Serrano and Briana Durborow (Ringoes, NJ) to score Samantha Johnston. The Bulldogs averted further damage when right fielder Kate Thomas (Bedford, Mass.) made a beautiful sliding catch on a Julie Schaper pop up and Enos retired Alana daSilva to strand runners on second and third.
The Bulldogs grabbed the lead in the fourth, when Wilbur launched her first home run off Adelphi starter Sheila Feldman. The blast cleared the outfield grandstands behind the 190-foot marker. Three batters later, Serrano drove a three-two, two-out pitch over the left center field wall for a two-run home run.
Serrano's blast drove Feldman from the game, and was replaced by Christine Robinson who gave up Wilbur's second blast.
Enos was solid throughout, allowing only the run in the first and a Johnston homer in the third. It was Enos' third start in as many days, and she is 2-1 in that span.
Chouinard put the exclamation point on the game with a seventh inning home run that snuck around the left field foul pole for her sixth homer of the season. Chouinard, already the record-holder, extends the single-season freshman mark in that category.

With the win, the Bulldogs will look to advance to Sunday play with another elimination game against Dowling. The Bulldogs defeated Dowling 6-1 Thursday afternoon. Adelphi has been eliminated from the NCAA Tournament with the loss.
This marks the first time in Bulldogs history that the team has won more than one NCAA tournament games. Bryant has made the NCAA Regionals each of the past four seasons.
