Softball's Doubleheader With Assumption Moved to Thursday

Bryant University's Northeast-10 Conference opener, scheduled for Wednesday at 3pm in Worcester, has been rescheduled to Thursday afternoon at 3pm in Smithfield.

 

 Senior Pitcher Nikki Ingalls

The Bulldogs (2-3) will be seeing their first action since March 17, when they finished play at the Florida Southern Invitational. The Bulldogs have been led this season by the strong pitching of Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) and Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) and the offense of senior Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.).

Ingalls (2-0) has yet to allow a earned run while Enos (0-2) sports a 1.19 ERA in 17.2 innings.  Gagne is hitting .313 with three extra base hits and 3 RBIs in five games. Freshmen Ashley Coon (Fairless Hills, PA) leads teh team with a .400 average in her first year taking over for last year's Northeast-10 Player of the Year Jordan Dargon, who is now a Bulldog coach.

The Bulldogs are looking to repeat as Northeast-10 regular season champs and also a third straight NE-10 Conference tournament championship.

The Greyhounds of Assumption College are 2-8 in the season. The games will be the first NE-10 contests for each team. The Bulldogs will travel to Pace for a doubleheader on Saturday and C.W. Post on Sunday.
