Bulldogs Set to Face Southern New Hampshire After Upset-Filled Day One

Bulldogs Set To Face Penmen Saturday at Noon

May 5, 2007

SYRACUSE, NY - After an upset-filled first day of action at the Northeast-10 Tournament, the Bulldogs will look to stave off elimination Saturday against the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire at noon.

After the first day of competition, the tournament's two lowest seeds (UMass-Lowell and Merrimack) are undefeated while the top four seeds make up the loser's bracket.

If Bryant wins their first game Saturday, they will move on to play the winner of the Le Moyne-Southern Connecticut game at 3:30pm. If they were to lose, they would be eliminated from the tournament.

The Bulldogs split an April 14 doubleheader with the Penmen at the Bryant Softball Complex. Bryant won the first game 3-2 but fell in the second 7-6 despite a late rally. Click Here for game recap.

Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) who was named NE-10 Player of the Year Friday night, was unstoppable on that day, going 5 for 7 with 2 runs and an RBI. Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.), who was selected to the conference's All-Third team, was 3 of 7 with 3 RBI against the Penmen.

Senior Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) got the win in the victory over SNHU, going seven strong and not allowing an earned run.

For those attending the game, please note that the game will be held at the primary site on Le Moyne's campus. With the Dolphins loss, they forfeit the home field advantage and will be moved to the secondary site where Bryant was initially scheduled to play.
