2008 Bryant Softball Begins Practice Eyeing a Fifth Consecutive Trip to the NCAA Tournament
Smithfield, RI- The students of Bryant University returned to Smithfield this week for the first week of spring semester classes. Also back are the Bulldog softball team which began team practice this week. The Bulldogs are looking to build on a 2008 season in which they reached the Northeast Regional final of the NCAA Tournament, the program's fourth consecutive trip to the tournament. With returning seniors Jessica Valentini, Jennifer Serrano, and pitcher Janine Enos, hopes are high for the Bulldogs again this spring.

Bryant Softball Hosts 8th Annual Snowball Clinic with expert instruction by Players and Coaches
Bryant head softball coach Lisa-Ann Wallace has led Bryant softball to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances including two conference championships. She has also produced 22 all-conference players and the last three Northeast-10 Conference Players of the Year. Coach Wallace will now bring her nearly two decades of coaching experience to youth softball players grades 5-8 and 9-12 at the 8th annual Bryant Snowball Clinic on Saturday, February 23, 2008.

Coaches Wallace, Dargon and "Team Muise" Raise $21,500 for Cancer Research at Pan-Mass Challenge
Four years ago, head softball coach Lisa-Ann Wallace's star player and team leader Carly Muise's father Peter was diagnosed with cancer. At the time, Dargon was a fellow player of Muise but has since moved to the coaching box. Touched by Muise's courage and resolve, the coaches now want to do something to give back and help defeat this terrible disease. In August, Wallace and Dargon rode the 200 mile Pan-Mass Challenge from Sturbridge, Mass. to Provincetown, Mass. on Cape Cod. Proceeds from the event went to the Dana Farber Cancer Center and the Jimmy Fund.

Bryant Softball Unveils 2007 Fall and 2008 Spring Schedules
Smithfield, RI - The Bryant Bulldogs have unveiled their upcoming fall 2007 and spring 2008 schedules. Bryant will kick off their "Fall Ball" schedule with a trip to the University of Hartford on Saturday, September 15. The next week, the team will play host to interstate rivals Brown and the University of Rhode Island. The spring slate kicks off with a trip to the Florida Southern Tournament. The home schedule features a doubleheader with C.W. Post, the team that ended Bryant's season last year one game away from the College World Series.

Inspired by Former Player's Father, Bryant Coaches Ride To Raise Money For Cancer Research
Smithfield, RI - Bryant head coach Lisa-Ann Wallace and assistant coach Jordan Dargon will be racing accross Massachusetts this summer in a fundraiser for cancer research. Four years ago, head softball Wallace's star player and team leader Carly Muise's father was diagnosed with cancer. At the time, Dargon was a fellow player of Muise but has since moved to the coaching box. Touched by Muise's courage and resolve, the coaches now want to do something to give back and help defeat this terrible disease. The two-day race will cover nearly 200 miles from Sturbridge, Mass. to Provincetown, Mass. on Cape Cod. Coach Wallace hopes to raise $3,600 for cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Center and the Jimmy Fund

Bulldogs Finish Season Ranked 20th in the Nation in NFCA's Final Poll
Smithfield, RI - On the heels of their impressive run to the NCAA's Northeast Regional finals, the Bryant Bulldogs finished the season #20 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's The Bulldogs were led this year by senior Amanda Wilbur who was named NE-10 Player of the Year and first team All-Region and All-Conference. Wilbur finished the year with a .387 average, ten homers and 38 RBI. The ranking marks the first time in the program's thirty year history that the Bulldogs have been ranked in the NFCA's national poll. Coach Lisa-Ann Wallace's team has reached the NCAA Tournament the last four years, and won two conference titles in that span. Wallace became the program's winningest coach in May, and has a 164-154-1 record at the school.
