The Spartans, ranked 20th in the NFCA poll, are 18-5 on the season. The team is led by pitcher Deanna Henriott, who is 12-3 with a 1.20 ERA. Henriott tossed a complete game no-hitter in her last start against Eckerd.
The Spartans have taken two of three games from the Florida Southern Moccasins this year. The Moccasins started the season at No. 4 nationally, but have dropped out of the NFCA rankings. The two losses to Tampa account for two of their three losses on the season (12-3 overall).
Hillsdale is 2-2 on the young season, and led by junior outfielder Dana Gould who is batting .545.
The Bulldogs received votes in the opening NFCA poll and were picked to finish second in the Northeast-10 by the conference's coaches. The Bulldogs are again led by senior pitcher Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.).
