SOFTBALL TAKES ON REGIONAL POWER LE MOYNE FOR CONFERENCE SUPREMACY THIS WEEKEND; DIRECTIONS FOR FANS AVAILABLE
April 18, 2008
Smithfield, RI - Fresh off a doubleheader sweep of third place UMass-Lowell, the Bulldogs look to solidify their grasp on the NE-10 Conference with a critical four-game road trip to St. Rose and Le Moyne.
The Bulldogs took two games from the Riverhawks behind the continued brilliance of pitcher Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass). Enos tossed her first career no-hitter in game one versus the Riverhawks and came in to capture her second save of the week (and her career) in game two.
St. Rose is 9-15 overall and 6-8 in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Golden Knights are led by pitcher Junior College transfer Tracy Chesebrough who is 5-7, but has a 1.96 ERA and an impressive 130 strikeouts in 82.2 innings
Le Moyne, always a tough conference team, is sitting just one loss behind the Bulldogs in the conference standings at 13-1 (26-8 overall). The Dolphins are led by Sarah Reed (.424 BA, 4 HR, 38 RBI) and pitcher Jenna Vanacore (6-0, 1.58 ERA).
The Bulldogs next home game will come next Tuesday against Saint Anselm. Live stats will not be available for these road games, but driving directions are located below. Please note that the St. Rose games will not be held on the college's campus.
