BRYANT SOFTBALL TO HOST SCOUT DAY IN AUGUST
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University softball team will be holding a Scout Day clinic on the Bryant University campus August 19 or August 20. The clinic is open for players in grades 9-12.

BRYANT PLACES 65 STUDENT-ATHLETES ON NEC ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL
SOMERSET, NJ A total of 65 Bryant University student-athletes have been named to the Northeast Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, including nine earning Spring Commissioners Honor Roll distinction. In addition, mens tennis junior Cristian Balestrieri (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) and womens tennis senior Chelsea Downing (Cherry Hills Village, Colo.) were recognized as NEC Spring Scholar-Athletes for 2010.

SOFTBALL FALLS TO MONMOUTH IN 2010 SEASON FINALE THURSDAY
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Vying for the second seed in the Northeast Conference Softball Tournament, the Monmouth University Hawks were able to squeak by the Bryant University softball team in both games of doubleheader action Thursday afternoon at the Bryant Softball Complex. Monmouth nipped the Bulldogs 3-2 in game one and 5-2 in the night cap.

BULLDOGS DROP TWO AT SACRED HEART IN FINAL ROAD SERIES OF THE 2010 SEASON
SMITHFIELD, R.I. Playing in its last away series of the 2010 campaign, the Bryant University softball team was unable to upset Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon. The fifth-place Pioneers dropped the Bulldogs 4-2 in the first game and took the nightcap by a slim 1-0 margin.

BULLDOGS DEFEAT HOLY CROSS 7-2; COMPLETE SEASON-SWEEP OF CRUSADERS
SMITHFIELD, R.I. After falling behind 2-0 after just two innings of play, the Bryant University softball team battled back to defeat The College of the Holy Cross by a margin of 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon at Freshman Field. The win completes the season-sweep of the Crusaders for the Bulldogs as they defeated the Royal Purple by the exact same score in their BU home-opener.

SOFTBALL DROPPED 9-1 IN FIVE INNINGS BY INTRASTATE RIVAL BROWN
SMITHFIELD, R.I. The Bryant University softball team was defeated, 9-1, in five innings of play at intrastate rival Brown University on Tuesday afternoon at a rain-soaked Erickson Athletic Complex. The game consisted of approximately a 30-minute rain delay in the middle of the fourth inning.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. Due to inclement weather in the Smithfield area, Sundays Northeast Conference doubleheader between Bryant University and Monmouth has been postponed until Mothers Day weekend. An exact time and date has not yet been scheduled. The Bulldogs Senior Day festivities will still take place in South Dining Hall in the Bryant Center at 1 p.m.

The Blackbirds came from behind in both games to win 3-1 and 8-3, respectively.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. The Bryant University softball team returns to Northeast Conference play this weekend when they host the conferences top two teams. On Saturday, the Bulldogs will play host to top-ranked Long Island, and then the Hawks of Monmouth University on Sunday. Both doubleheader matchups are scheduled for 12 p.m. starts and will be broadcast live for the first time on Bryantbulldogs.tv. The Black and Gold will also be honoring its three seniors on Sunday between contests.

The Bulldogs will play five games on the trip including one against host institution, Louisiana-Lafayette, and two matchups against both Bradley and Syracuse University. BULLDOG SOFTBALL TO HOST ANNUAL SNOWBALL CLINIC ON FEBRUARY 20TH
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - With 10th year head coach Lisa-Ann Wallace at the helm, the Bryant University softball team will enter its second year of DI softball in 2010. From 2004-2008, Coach Wallace led the Bulldogs to five consecutive NCAA tournament berths including two conference tournament championships. She has also produced 24 all-conference players and four conference players of the year.

2010 Bryant Softball Schedule Ready
SMITHFIELD, RI - The 2010 Bryant University softball schedule is ready as the Bulldogs prepare to begin their second year competing at the Division I level this spring. The Bulldogs will open the year at the Spring Rebel Games in Orlando and the Ragun Cajun tournament in Louisiana before returning home to host Holy Cross on March 16 at 4 pm.
