SOFTBALL HOSTS SENIOR DAY ON SATURDAY; TAKE ON SACRED HEART AT 12 P.M.

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant University softball program will play its final game on the 2009 season on Saturday, when they host Sacred Heart University at 12 p.m. at the Bryant Softball Complex. The Bulldogs will honor seniors Anne Dobmeier (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Stephanie Mirando (North Haven, Conn.) in a pregame ceremony with festivities to follow after the game.

ANNE DOBMEIER
A career .288 hitter, Anne Dobmeier has appeared in 107 games for the Bulldogs since

arriving on campus as a sophomore in 2007. In her three seasons, Dobmeier has hit six home runs and driven in 33 RBI. Her five home runs this season ties her for seventh most in a single season while ranking her first on the team this year. Dobmeier is currently first on the team in batting average and RBI this season, hitting .287 with 14 RBI. As a junior in 2008, Dobmeier hit .322 while starting in 45 games at first base, driving in a career-best 18 runs. A solid defensive first baseman, Dobmeier has committed just 14 errors in three seasons, racking up a .981 fielding percentage.

STEPHANIE MIRANDO
A four-year contributor to the Bulldogs, Stephanie Mirando has played in 141 games while making 116 starts. A captain this season, Mirando has a career .241 batting average with one home run and 49 RBI. As a junior in 2008, she set a career-high with 24 RBI while

starting in 45 games as a designated player. Mirando has always shown great bat control through her four seasons, recording 15 sacrifice hits including a team best 10 sacrifices in 2008. This season, Mirando has batted .181 with one home run and RBI, as she has helped the Bulldogs to 11 wins in their first Division I season.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
The Pioneers have won seven-straight games entering play on Thursday and have qualified to play in the Northeast Conference tournament starting next week. The team is currently 18-26 overall with an 11-7 conference record. Taylor Froelich leads the team with a .336 average slugging six home runs and 16 RBI. Jen Russell has been the team's top pitcher, appearing in 32 games while posting a 13-14 record with a 1.60 ERA.
