Women Swimmers Continue Strong Showing at School's First NE-10 Championships

NEW HAVEN, CT- Coming off a strong showing on the opening day of action at the Northeast-10 Championships, the Bulldog women swimmers continued their excellent swimming behind freshman Jess Looney. After the second day of the three day meet, the Southern Connecticut Owls continued to lead in both the men's and women's team competitions. The Bryant women currently sit in fourth place with 271 points while the men are in fifth with 218.5.

The Owls women stretched their lead over Le Moyne from 11 points to 115. Southern Connecticut has 612 points, followed by Le Moyne's 497. Bentley moved to third with 305 followed by Bryant with 271, Saint Rose with 214, Pace with 156, and Saint Michael's with 150.
Looney continued her srong performance in her first year. The two-time NE-10 Freshman of the Week finished second in the 400 yard Individual Medley and 200 yard Backstroke.
Southern Connecticut lead the men with 508 points, followed by
Saint Rose with 32, Bentley with 386.5, Le Moyne with 326.5. Bryant
sits in fifth with 218.5 followed by Saint Michael's with 182 and
Pace with 129.5.
Bryant's team of James Newton, John Cieslewski, Nate Olszewski, and Ray Savner finished fourth in the 400-yard Medley Relay. Savner, Bryant's record holder in the 50-yard Freestyle, finished third in that event Saturday.
The meet will conclude Sunday. This is Bryant's first trip to
the Northeast-10 Championships.
