Records Fall at Smith Indoor Track Meet

The Bryant men's and women's indoor track teams competed at the Smith College Invitational on Saturday as the Bulldogs set four new school indoor records on the day.
The Bulldog men finished in second place in the final team scoring with 144 points as Wesleyan University won the men's meet with a score of 233. The Bryant women were fifth with 52 team points.
Hafiz Greigre, who set a school record in the 200 meters at last week's meet at Wesleyan, set a new mark in the men's 55 meters in 6.47 seconds. Greigre was first in the 55m and would later take first place in the men's 200 meters in a time of 22.24 seconds.
Also on the men's side, pole vaulter Jozef Gallot set a new mark by clearing a height of 12 feet, six inches.
Nicole Radzik set a new mark with a time of 11:09.37 in the women's 300 meters while the women's 4 x 400 meter relay team of Courtney Elderkin, Tia Freeman, Samantha Genatossio, and Lisa Bielenin set a new relay indoor mark in 4:27.40.
Other highlights on the day includes Warwick's Holly Resendes who ran well in the 1,500 meters and had a strong showing in the 4 x 800 meter relay. Amber Torrey also had a pair of personal best marks in the shot put and weight throw. Torrey placed third in the weight throw at 44 feet, 3.50 inches and was eighth in the shot put at 35 feet, 7.5 inches.
Jessica Cegarra placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 38-1.50. Teammate Michelle Morris had a strong day in both the 55 and 200 meters. Morris was second in the 55 meter finals in 7.70 seconds and placed sixth in the 200 in 28.76 seconds. Lisa Bielenin earned a eighth-place finish in the 400 meters in 64.63 seconds and was a member of the 4x400 meter relay squad that placed fourth.
In the men's field events, Matt Cutler was fourth in the shot put at 44 feet, 5.25 inches while teammate Mike Nessralla was 10th (37-.75) and also placed fourth in the men's weight throw with a best mark of 43-5.
Dallas Lynch took first place honors in the men's long jump with a meet's best 21 feet, 2.50 inches, edging teammate Daniel Kwarteng who was second at 21 feet. Lynch would later take second in the men's triple jump by clearing 44 feet, 11 inches.
It was a busy day for Kwarteng after taking second in the finals of the 55 meters in 6.60 seconds and running as a member of the Bulldogs' relay squad.
Bryant will travel to Tufts next weekend.
