Greigre and Ganatossio Named Athletes of The Week

SOUTH EASTON, MASS - Bryant sophomore Hafiz Greigre and freshman Samantha Genatossio were recently named Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week. Both had standout performances last week at the Smith College Invitational and played a key roll in establishing four new Bryant Indoor school records.
Greigre (Attleboro, Mass.) was named the Northeast-10 Indoor Track & Field Male Athlete of the Week after winning a pair of events last weekend at the Smith College Invitational. One week after setting a school record in the 200 meters at Wesleyan, Greigre set a new school record by winning the 55 meter dash in 6.47 seconds and would later win the 200 in 22.24 seconds.
Genatossio of Norwell, Mass. was named the Northeast-10 Conference Freshman Track & Field Athlete of the Week after setting a personal-best with an eighth-place finish in the men?s long jump with a mark of 15 feet, 8.75 inches at Saturday?s Smith College Invitational. She would also place sixth in the triple jump at 32-4.25 and ran the third leg of the 4 x 400 meter relay squad that set a new school record with a record time of 4:27.40.
Earning NE-10 Honorable Mention honors for the week were Dallas Lynch (Wayne, N.J.), Jozef Gallot (Scarsborough, Maine) and Amber Torrey (Plainfield, Mass.). Lynch won the men's long jump at Smith and was second in the triple jump. Gallot set a new school record in the pole vault, clearing 12 feet, 5.5 inches. Torrey set a new personal best mark in the weight throw with a third-place throw of 44 feet, 3.5 inches. She was also eighth in the shot put (35-7.75).
