Brian Ford Named Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week; Martinich Named Freshman Field Athlete of the Week
FORD AND MARTINICH NAMED NE-10 FRESHMEN OF THE WEEK

EASTON, Mass. - Bryant University freshman standout Brian Ford (Tewksbury, Mass.) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Freshman Track Athlete of the Week while fellow classmate Rachel Martinich (Fairfield, Conn.) was tabbed the NE-10 Field Freshman of the Week as announced by the conference office this week.

Ford placed second overall in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase at last Saturday's M.I.T. Coed Invitational in 10 minutes, 16.90 seconds. Ford ran well in the event for the first time during the outdoor season. A member of the Bryant cross country team in the fall, Ford has the team's second-best mark in the 1,500 meters this season (4:11.82) and is fifth in the 800 meters at 2:11.21.
Martinich was fifth in the women's javelin at M.I.T. with a personal best 109-4. The freshman bettered her previous best mark by more than two feet set last week at the Northeastern Solomon Husky Invitational.
Hafiz Greigre (Attleboro, Mass.) and Rob Schneider were named to the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll. Greigre set a school record in the men's 100 meter dash was was part of the Bryant 4x400 meter relay that set a school record at the meet.
Schneider, a junior from North Cromwall, Conn. equaled a school record by clearing 13 feet in placing fourth in the men's pole vault.
Bryant will take part in Sunday's Brown Springtime Invitational in Providence.
