Bryant's Hafiz Greigre Qualifies For National Indoor Championships in 200 Meters

      SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant sophomore sprinter Hafiz Greigre (Attleboro, MA) is ranked No. 8 nationally in the men's 200 meters with a mark of 21.57 seconds.   Greigre set the school-record time with a third-place finish in the finals of the 200 meters at last Saturday's New England Championships in Boston.  Also at the meet, Greigre lowered his current school record in the 55 meters with a second-place finish in the finals of the event in a blistering time of 6.38 seconds, just one hundredth of a second behind URI's Michael Bland who was first in 6.37. 

     In addition, senior distance runner Caleb Paul (Addison, Maine) set a new indoor school record in the men's 5,000 meters, shattering the old mark of 15 minutes, 27.34 seconds by Eric Narcisi in 2001 with a time of 15:15.77.  Paul's previous best was 15:36.88 set Feb. 18 at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships. 

     The NCAA Indoor Championships will take place at Reggie Lewis Center at Northeastern University in Boston, Mar. 10-11, 2006.  The 2006 Bryant outdoor season will begin Mar. 25 at Northeastern Snowflake Invitational.
