TRACK & FIELD ENJOYS EXCELLENT DAY AT NORTHEASTERN
MEN'S RESULTS / WOMEN'S RESULTS
DEDHAM, Mass. - The Bryant University men's and women's track teams had a fine day competing at the Northeastern University Huskie Solomon Invitational, particularly in the relays where three relay teams captured first place honors.
On the men's side, the relay team of Joe Brennan, Alex Engel, Hafiz Greigre, and Lorenzo Perry took first in the 4 x 100 meter relay in a time of 42.43 seconds while the men's 4 x 800 relay team also took first, crossing the line in 8 minutes, 25.65 seconds. The 4x400m unit took second.
The women's 4x100 sprint relay team also had a strong showing as Justine Douvandjian, Amanda Early, Stephanie Montagano and Natasha Stevenson took first in a time of 52.59.
Individually, Greigre looked in midseason form, capturing not only the fastest time in the men's 100 meters (10.97 seconds) but later taking top honors in the men's 200 meter dash, finishing in a time of 21.21 seconds.
Engle was fourth in the 100m in 11.52 seconds and third in the 200m in 23.37.
In the men's 3000 meter steeplechase, freshman Nathaniel Green took first in a time of 9:58.34 while Justin Getts was fifth in the men's 800 meters in 2:01.37. Jen Goodwin had a good showing in the women's 5,000 meters, earning a fifth place finish in a time of 19:46.70.
