BRYANT TRACK & FIELD INVITATIONAL

RESULTS

SMITHFIELD, RI - This time the sun was out. Despite unseasonably cold temperatures and a chilly wind, this year's Bryant Invitational was nothing quite like last year's that saw the cancellation of several events due to snow, ice, and rain.   And the Bryant men's and women's track & field teams turned in a very strong performance in only the team's second outdoor meet of the season.

Led by its usual strong cast in the sprints, the Bulldogs turned in a balanced effort through all events at Saturday's non-scoring meet.  Senior sprinter Hafiz Greigre captured a pair of firsts, winning both the 100 meters (10.85 seconds) and later taking top honors in the 200 meters in a time of 21.19 seconds.  Teammate Alex Engel was third in the 200m, finishing in 22.44 seconds.

Joe Brennan took home second in the men's 400 meters in 51.08 seconds.  In the women's 400 meters, Stephanie Montagano took first with a solid time of 60:87 while Justine Douvandjian was not far behind, finishing second in the 400m in 1:02.72.  Sprinter Natasha Stevenson took home first in the women's 100m dash in 12.72 seconds.

Bryant's 10,000 meter runners Nicole Radzik and Andrew Holmes won their respective meets on the afternoon.  Radzik crossed the line in 37 minutes, 42.72 seconds while Holmes would later turn in a time of 34:10.48.

In the field events, Jessica Cegarra took first in the women's shot put with a day's best mark of 39 feet, 9.25 inches and would later take second in the women's discus with a throw of 108-11.

Bryant will travel to Boston next weekend to take part in Northeastern University's Invite.
