Men's and Women's Indoor Track Teams Compete at New Englands

INDOOR TRACK TEAMS COMPETE AT NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS

MEN'S RESULTSWOMEN'S RESULTS / Bryant Indoor Records

BOSTON - The Bryant men's and women's indoor teams took part in the 2007 New England Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at Boston University.  The men's team placed 20th out of 32 teams with six points while the women did not score.

The men were led by sprinter Hafiz Greigre who placed seventh in the 55 meter prelims in a time of 6.46 seconds and later placed third in the finals of the men's 200 meters in a school record time of 21.33 seconds.  Greigre continues to be ranked second in Division II in the 200.

East Providence, RI native Joe Brennan placed 18th in the 400m preliminaries, running a personal-best time of 49.80.  He would later help the men's 4x400 relay set a new record with another standout performance.

In the field events, Rob Schneider set a new school record in the men's pole vault, clearing a height of 13 feet, 9 inches to place 13th. 

The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Greigre, Brennan, Alex Engel, and Curt Markinac set a new school record with a time of 3:18.49 while the 4x800 team of Justin Getts, Peter Jacques, Nathaniel Green, and Matt Carrai broke the school record by 20 seconds.

On the women's side, Natasha Stevenson set school records in the 200 meters while Justine Douvadjian ran well in the 400 meters, placing 25thi n 1:01.48.  Stephanie Montagano took home 17th place in the 500 meters in 1:19.09.
