SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT REPEATS AS NORTHEAST-10 TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONS, BRYANT TAKES FOURTH IN SATURDAY'S MEET
SMITHFIELD, RI - With a combined 22 wins over 43 events in Saturday's Northeast-10 Conference Track and Field Championships, the Southern Connecticut State University men's and women's track and field teams captured the 2008 title for its second championship in as many years at the Bryant Track Complex. For the Bulldogs, senior standout Nicole Radzik (Sutton, Mass.) led the women, taking a pair of victories out of Saturday's competition. Bryant's 2008 Female Athlete of the Year started off the day winning the 3000-meter steeplechase in an NCAA-provisionally qualifying time of 11:20.91, beating out her nearest competitor by more than a minute. Radzik, who was named 2008 Northeast-10 Conference Female Athlete of the Year, continued her winning ways with a victory in the 5000 meter, beating her own NE-10 Championship record (set in 2007) and qualifying for the New England Championships with an 18:03.44 run.

Track & Field Teams Ready to Host Northeast-10 Championships Saturday
SMITHFIELD, RI – The Bryant University men's and women's track & field teams will host the 2008 Northeast-10 Conference Track & Field Championships this Saturday at the Bryant Track Complex. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. with the men's hammer kicking off the field events and the men's and women's (combined) running of the 10,000 meters to lead off the running events. The championships are schedule to conclude around 4:30 p.m. following the completion of the women's and men's 4x800 meter relay with the awards ceremony scheduled to take place at that time.

BULLDOGS COMPETE WELL AT MIT SPRING INVITATIONAL
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Bryant University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the MIT Spring Invitational April 18 and 19 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Junior Steph Montagano (Wakefield, Mass.) took first place in the 400 meter dash in a time of 58.31, and was joined in top finishes by Nicole Radzik (Sutton, Mass.) and the men's 4x400 relay team. Radzik took first in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:32, while the men took the top spot in the relay with a 3:22.36 mark.

MAWEMA, JOINER SELECTED TO REPRESENT BRYANT AT NCAA NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE MAY 25-29
SMITHFIELD, RI - Field hockey sophomore Kundayi Mawema and track and field junior Jonathan Joiner have been selected to represent Bryant University in the 2008 NCAA National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla., May 25-29.

Records Fall As Outdoor Track Enjoys Big Day at UMass Lowell Invite
LOWELL, MA – It was a record-setting day for the Bryant men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams as both squads took part in the George Davis Invitational hosted by UMass Lowell Saturday afternoon. On the women’s side, Stephanie Montagano captured first place in the women’s 400 meters, shattering the school record with a time of 58.04 seconds and in the process qualifying for the New England Championships. Earlier in the meet, Montagano placed seventh in the women’s 200 meters in 26.82 seconds.

SOUTH EASTON, MA – The NE-10 Conference has announced the recipients of its Winter 2007-2008 Sportsmanship Awards. The awards program honors one team from each of the conference’s 23 championship sports that has exemplified the spirit of sportsmanship and generally conducted themselves with a higher degree of integrity, character, and class.

TRACK AND FIELD COMPETES AT STONEHILL COLLEGE; RADZIK PROVISIONALLY QUALIFIES FOR NCAAS WITH STEEPLECHASE WIN
EASTON, Mass. -- The Bryant University men's and women's track and field teams took seventh and sixth place, respectively, at this weekend's Stonehill Skyhawk Track and Field Invitational, April 5. Four athletes on the women's side highlighted the day-long competition, as a pair of runners and a pair from the field events walked away with first-place finishes. Those four were led by senior Nicole Radzik (Sutton, Mass.), who bested Stonehill's Jen Gardynski by more than 13 seconds for a top time and new Bryant record in the 3000-meter steeplechase (11:18.16). Her time also provisionally qualifies her for the NCAA Championships.

SIX BULLDOGS FROM FOUR TEAMS EARN CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
SMITHFIELD, RI -- Six Bryant University athletes from four different teams were awarded weekly honors by the Northeast-10 Conference for their play from March 24-31. Led by a trio of Player of the Week accolades, the Bulldogs were recognized in men's and women's lacrosse, softball, and track and field.

Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at Rhode Island College
PROVIDENCE – The Bryant men’s and women’s track & field teams opened the 2008 outdoor season Saturday afternoon at the Rhode Island College Invitational. On a chilly afternoon, the Bulldogs opened strong with several top finishes. In the field events, Amber Torrey took home second in the women’s shot put (10.31 meters). Rebecca Lange and Rachel Martinich placed fourth and fifth in the event. Torrey would later finish third in the discus throw and fourth in the hammer.

BRYANT TRACK STANDOUT NICOLE RADZIK EARNS TRIP TO NCAA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS MARCH 14-15
SMITHFIELD, RI – Bryant University track & field and cross country standout Nicole Radzik (Sutton, MA) has qualified for the 2008 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in the 5,000 meters. Radzik, who will be making her first indoor track & field championship appearance, qualified by earning the 16th and final spot in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17 minutes, 32.90. Emporia State's Jonel Rossbach posted the country's fastest time in the event of 16:54.12.

Indoor Track Finished 23rd at New England Championships at BU
BOSTON – The Bryant University men's and women's indoor track teams finished 23rd at the 2008 New England Championships at Boston University this weekend. Senior Nicole Radzik brought home a fourth-place finish in the women's 5,000 meters finishing in 17 minutes, 31.10 seconds. Alex Engel earned a PR with a fifth-place finish in the 400m finals Saturday.

Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Teams Place Fourth at NE-10 Championships
NEW HAVEN, CT – The Bryant men's and women's indoor track teams placed fourth respectively at the 2008 Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at Southern Connecticut State University Saturday. Southern Connecticut won both men's and women's championships with Stonehill men taking second and the Stonehill women finishing as runners up on the women's side.

Track Teams Compete at Boston University Saturday
BOSTON – The Bryant University men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed at the Boston University Valentine Invitational Saturday afternoon. Leading the way for the women was junior standout Stephanie Montagano (Wakefield, MA) who took 45th in the women's 200 meters in 26.32 seconds and later added a 30th place finish in the women's 400 meters in 58.87 seconds.

Women's Indoor Track Seventh at URI Mega Meet
KINGSTON, RI -- The Bryant University women’s indoor track & field team took part in the University of Rhode Island Mega Meet Saturday afternoon at URI’s Mackal Field House. The Bulldogs finished seventh out of seven teams competing with 12 points. Host URI won the meet with 249.5 points followed by UNH in second with 175 and third-place UMass at 131.5. Quinnipiac (48), Central Connecticut (19) and Rhode Island College (15) rounded out the scoring placing fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

Men's Indoor Track Places Fourth at URI Mega Meet
KINGSTON, RI -- The Bryant University men’s indoor track & field team took part in the University of Rhode Island Mega Meet Friday evening at URI’s Mackal Field House. The Bulldogs finished in a tie for fourth with Quinnipiac with 30 total team points. Host URI was first with 271.5 points followed by UNH (144.5) and UMass (117). RIC and AIC were sixth and seventh respectively.

BOSTON – Competing for the first time since early December, the Bryant University men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams competed at the Boston University Terrier Invitational at the BU Track & Tennis Saturday. The Bulldogs turned in several strong performances including top-10 finishes by Nicole Radzik and Amber Torrey.

Bryant's Greigre To Compete at World Indoor Track Championships in March
SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University senior sprinter Haifz Greigre (Attleboro, Mass.) has been selected to participate in the 2008 Track & Field World Indoor Championships which will take place March 7-9, 2008 in Valencia, Spain. Greigre will participate for his native Liberian National Team and will run in the 4x400 meter relay event that is scheduled for Sunday, March 9.

Indoor Track Opens Season at Northeastern Winter Carnival; Pair of Records Fall
BOSTON, Mass. - Two school records fell last Saturday as the Bryant men's and women's indoor track & field teams opened the winter season at the Northeastern University Husky Winter Carnival. Hafiz Greigre set a new mark in the 400 meters while freshman Stephanie Kirk broke the school record in the 55 meter hurdles. The teams will travel to the Harvard Invitational Saturday.

Bryant Names Stephanie Reilly Interim Cross Country / Track & Field Coach
SMITHFIELD, RI – The Bryant University Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephanie Reilly as interim head cross country / track & field coach. The announcement was made today by Athletics Director Bill Smith. Reilly replaces Trish Hillery who resigned to pursue other career opportunities.

Bulldog Sprinter Concludes Standout Season at NCAA Division II Championships
CHARLOTTE, NC - After narrowly missing out on qualifying for the finals of the men's 400 meters at Thursday's NCAA Division II Championships, Bryant sprinter Hafiz Greigre concluded his stellar spring season by placing 20th in the prelims of the 200 meters on Friday. Greigre placed third in the 400m on Thursday in his heat with a time of 47.37 seconds.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - He is a blur. A Bombardier by foundation, a Bulldog by uniform, Hafiz Greigre has become one of the nation's best collegiate sprinters, in any division - I, II, III. Greigre became the Northeast 10 Conference's Track Athlete of the Year, winning both the 100- and 200-meter sprint in representing Bryant University at the championship meet. Then, Greigre became the New England Intercollegiate Track Association champion in the 400-meter sprint last weekend at Dartmouth College, a gathering of the elite track athletes from all divisions of the six-state region. Not only is Greigre bound for the NCAA Division II National Championship Meet next weekend in Charlotte, N.C., the Attleboro High School graduate is a Dean's List student, a business management major, who recently completed a seven-course load spring semester with a perfect 4.0 grade index. HANOVER, NH – Dartmouth College was the site of outstanding track and field performances by the Bryant men’s and women’s teams as the Bulldogs recently completed competition at the 2007 New England Championships. The Bryant men finished seventh overall with 38 points while the women earned 14 points to place 20th. Senior Hafiz Greigre was the New England title in the 400 meters.
