BRYANT MEN'S TRACK & FIELD RECIEVES CONFERENCE SPRING 2008 SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - After a successful season that saw the
Bulldogs place fourth at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships
and send a number of athletes to the New England
Championships, the Bryant University men's outdoor track &
field team was awarded the Spring 2008 Sportsmanship Award as
announced by the conference.
The awards program honors one team from each of the conference's 23
championship sports that has exemplified the spirit of
sportsmanship and generally conducted themselves with a higher
degree of integrity, character and class. During the season, the
awards were decided upon by a vote of each of the conference's
teams, head coach, team captain and Student Athlete Advisory
Committee (SAAC) representative in their respective sports.
This year makes the fourth-straight season in which the Bulldog
men have been the recipients of the sportsmanship award in
outdoor track and field.
Stonehill College was awarded the accolade on the women's
side.
In June, one of the 15 conference institutions will receive the ‘David R. Brunk Institution of the Year Sportsmanship Award' as voted on by the conference Senior Women Administrator (SWA) council. Last year, Saint Anselm was selected as the award recipient. In addition, Webster Bank will make a donation annually to a Boys & Girls Club in the name of the winner's school.
