TRACK & FIELD COMPETES AT IC4A CHAMPIONSHIPS SATURDAY

PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY – The Bryant University track & field team competed at the IC4A Championships at Princeton University.  Alex Engel, competing in the men’s 400 meters, ran a very impressive time as the junior finished fourth in his heat with a time of 48.45, placing him 21st overall.

Engel would later take part in the men’s 4x400 meter relay competition.  The Bulldogs, fresh off setting a new school record the week before at the New England Championships with a very quick time of 3:15.39, fared very well once again on Saturday.

The quartet of Mike DiBella, Andrew Fitzgerald, Tom O’Connor and Engel running anchor, finished fourth in their heat and placed 17th overall in 3:15.84 – only a fraction of a second away from their preview best.

Delaware State, competing in the same heat at the Bulldogs, turned in the fastest time of the day with an NCAA qualifying time of 3:09.73.
