SOMERSET, N.J. - Two weeks into the season and the Bryant University indoor track & field team already has its first conference honor.  Freshman standout Deirdre Doyle of Carlow, Ireland has been named the Northeast Conference Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week the conference announced Tuesday.

Doyle displayed championship potential during her collegiate indoor debut. The Irish runner finished second in the 3000-meter run at the Harvard University Open, clocking in with a time (10:07.04) that would have topped the field at last February's NEC Indoor Championship.  Surging into first on the conference leader board, Doyle smashed Bryant's program record along the way.

The Bulldogs will be idle for the holidays and will return to action in mid January.
