Bryant Snaps Three-Game Losing Skid Beating SNHU 77-59

SMITHFIELD, RI ? The Bryant University women?s basketball snapped its three-game losing streak beating Southern New Hampshire University 77-59 today in a game played at the Chace Athletic Center.
Southern New Hampshire (1-17, 4-18 NE-10) started the game 3-of-3 from the field to take an early 6-0 lead before Bryant (14-8, 9-8 NE-10) would answer with three straight three-pointers two from Dede Fogarty (Middletown, Conn.) and the other from Erin Murphy (Albany, NY).
From there both teams who keep the score to within six until Bryant closed the half on a 12-0 run to take 37-25 lead into the half. The run was sparked by a jumper from Lauren Rubenoff (New Hartford, Conn.), a big block and lay-up from Kellie Fournier (Westport, Mass.) and a three-pointer from Jessie Weber (Norwell, Mass.).
The Bulldogs would put the game at of reach early on in the second half using a 17-5 run to give Bryant a 22 point lead. Lindsay Hermann (Bristol, Conn.) scored five points in the run and Weber hit a three-pointer and lay-up. The Penmen would get no closer then 16 as Bryant breezed home for the win.
Bryant was lead by Fourier?s 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Fogarty, Hermann, and Murphy each scored 11. Southern New Hampshire was lead by Jenn Hogan scored 14.
Bryant used some tough defense to get the win forcing the Penmen into 31 turnovers, while only committing 15. They also out rebounded Southern New Hampshire 41-to-32.
Bryant will return to action Tuesday, February 8, when they travel to Le Moyne in a Northeast-10 Conference match-up. Tip-off is set for 5:30PM at Syracuse.
