Fournier's 20 Points Leads Bryant Past Saint Rose

ALBANY, NY - Kellie Fournier (Westport, Mass.) scored a season-high 20 points to help lead the Bryant women's basketball team to a 64-54 Northeast-10 Conference win over Saint Rose here Saturday.

Bryant, (12-5, 7-6 NE-10) who never trialed, would start the game off even with Saint Rose (7-10, 4-9 NE-10) before they used a 10-0 run to make the score 23-13 with eight minutes to go. The run used two Fournier jumpers and three free-throws from Lindsay Hermann (Bristol, Conn.). The Bulldogs would keep the Golden Knights at bay and take a comfortable 34-25 lead into the half.

The Bulldogs withstood an early second half Saint Rose run which saw them pull to within one, 35-34 thanks to a 7-2 run. From there Bulldogs would use a 17-5 run to take home the win. Bryant closed the run with a Joanna Skiba (Providence, RI) three to make it 52-39 and never looked back.

Skiba had nine points while Lindsay Hermann (Bristol, Conn.) had 14 points as Bryant shot 51.2 percent from the floor in the game.

Bryant will return to action Tuesday, January 25, 2005 when they host Pace University at the Chace Athletic Center. Tip-off is set for 7:30PM in Smithfield.
