Southern Connecticut Hands Bryant Women 75-54 Loss

NEW HAVEN, CONN - Lauren Rubenoff scored 11 points and was the only player in double figures as the Bryant women's basketball team fell to Southern Connecticut, 75-54 Thursday evening. With the loss, the Bulldogs drop to 13-6 overall and 8-6 in the NE-10. Southern Connecticut, led by Kim Jackle's 24 points, improves to 17-2, 13-2.
Bryant trailed 45-19 at the half and finished the game shooting 29.0 percent from the floor as the Bulldog starters were outscored 59 to 24 in the game.
Bryant did outscore the Owls 35 to 30 in the second half, but 15 points from Anabel Perdomo and 10 points apiece from Kristi Stolle and Rochelle Johnson helped lead the way for Southern Connecticut. The Owls shot 46.7 percent and made 10 of 25 three-point field goal attempts.
Joanna Skiba and Kellie Fournier each had eight points for the Bulldogs while Dede Fogarty had nine.
The Bulldogs will look to rebound on Saturday when they return home to host Franklin Pierce at the Chace Athletic Center. Tip-off is at 1:30 p.m.
