BRYANT WOMEN SELECTED FOR NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP
SMITHFIELD, RI – For the fifth time in school history and second year in-a-row, the Bryant women’s basketball team is heading back to the NCAA tournament. The Bulldogs, with a record of 18-11 overall, enter the tournament as the No. 7 seed and will take on second seed Bentley College in a first round game this Friday at 3:00PM in North Andover, Mass.
It will be the second year in a row the Bulldogs will face Bentley College in the NCAA tournament. Bryant defeated the Falcons 70-65 in the first round last year on the way to the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship game where the Bulldogs fell to Merrimack in the final.
This will be the third meeting of the year between the Falcons and Bulldogs with Bentley winning both regular-season games including an 88-83 win in overtime in Waltham, Mass. Back on Feb. 19.
This year’s tournament will take place at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass. Merrimack is the top seed of the tournament. The winner of the Northeast Regional will travel to the Elite Eight which will be held in Hot Springs, Arkansas March 23-26.
