Bulldogs held final exhibition game on Saturday

Smithfield, RI - The Bryant University women's basketball squad held their final exhibition game of the preseason on Ssaturday afternoon at the Chace Wellness Center. They welcomed Northeast-10 opponent member Franklin Pierce. The Ravens would have a 55-45 edge at the end of the match.

Today's match was broken down into three sections. The teams first played a regular half consisting of 20 minutes. The second half of play was only 10 minutes long. Finally, both teams were able to set-up certain situations in which to work on. The stats taken for the match are only from 30 minutes of actual play. The special situations session was not recorded.

Junior Joanna Skiba (Providence, RI) led all scorers in the match with 23 points including 5-7 from three point land. Junior Erin Murphy (Albany,NY) was second on the team in scoring with nine points and led the squad with six rebounds.

The Bulldogs were down 36-20 at halftime but rallied back in the 10 minute session to pull the game within 10 points. Franklin Pierce shot 49% from the field and 53% shooting threes. The Ravens made a total of eight three-pointers in 30 minutes.

Bryant will begin its regular season action on Tuesday, November 15 when they will travel to Queens for a non-conference game.
