Bulldogs drop third straight

RI - The Bryant University women’s
basketball team welcomed Pace University to the Chace Athletic
Center for the Bulldog’s home opener. Pace won the game 71-62
improving their record to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the Northeast-10.
The Bulldogs drop their third straight and fall to 1-3 overall and
0-3 in NE-10 conference play.
Even though the Setters of Pace University hit five three-pointers
in the first half they would trail by one going into the locker
room. Junior Joanna Skiba (Providence, RI) poured
in 10 of her team high 16 points in the first half including two
three-pointers to give the Bulldogs a 34-33 lead at half. They shot
43% from the field on 13-30 shooting. The second half was a
different story.
Bryant would go on to shoot just 25% making only eight field goals
in the second half while Pace would shoot 52%. The Setters had four
players in double figures and one player with nine points. Senior
Maria Brown (Fredrick, MD) had a game high 18
points to add onto her team leading 12.2 points per game. Sophomore
Stephanie Klingele (Staten Island, NY) had a
double-double including 14 points and 10 boards.
The Bulldogs had nine different players score at least three points
for the second game in a row. Freshman Alyssa
Michella (Washington, NJ) continued her hot shooting from
beyond the arc hitting 2-4 three-pointers in just 15 minutes. She
now has hit 10-24 threes in her first four career games.
Bryant University returns to action on Saturday, December 3rd when
they will visit Southern Connecticut. The Bulldogs return home on
Monday, December 5th when they will host non-conference opponent
Adelphi at 7:00pm.
