2005-06 Season Outlook: A confident, well-rounded athlete, Joanna is one of the three returning startes from last year. Her court awareness is crucial to her game and results in a lot of hoops of her and her teammates. She is an excellent passer who can hit the deep shot. Made 35 three-pointers a season ago and will have the opportunity to score more points this year. She should lead the team in assists and free throw percentage this season.
As a Sophomore: Started in 27-30 games averaging 31.2 minutes. Led the team in assists with 133 averaging almost four and a half per game. Was second on the team in scoring with 313 points, 10.4 ppg. Second on the team in steals with 40.
As a Freshman: Appeared in all 31 games last season for the Bulldogs, stating in 26 of them. Averaged 6.4 points per game, 2.2 rebounds per game and had 84 assists. Recorded double digit scoring in seven out of 31 games. Scored a season high 17 points and had six assists in her first career game at Bryant against the University of New Haven. Also scored 17 points and had five assists at Franklin Pierce. Recorded a career high seven assists in a win over Pace on January 3, 2004. Scored 11 points and had six rebounds in Bryant's ECAC First Round Tournament win over Bentley on March 12, 2004.
Before Bryant: Graduated from Classical High School in Providence. Rhode Island's Gatorade Player of the Year where she scored 1,824 career points. All-State selection as a senior in leading Classical to the state finals.
Personal: Joanna Skiba was born Sept. 19, 1985. Daughter of Halina Skiba. Joanna is currently majoring in Business.
