Kelsey O'Keefe Named Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
SOUTH EASTON, MASS. – Bryant freshman Kelsey O’Keefe (Warren, Mass.) capped off an outstanding first season at Bryant by being named the Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week for the second straight week. O’Keefe scored 24 points in a 78-73 loss to Saint Rose in the Northeast-10 quarterfinals. Last week, O’Keefe was also selected to the All-Conference Rookie Team. She led the Bulldogs in scoring (14.0 ppg) and rebounding (7.0 rbg).

Women's Basketball Season Ends with 78-73 to Saint Rose in NE-10 Quarters
ALBANY, N.Y. – The Bryant women’s basketball team saw its season come to an end Tuesday night at the hands of second-ranked Saint Rose College 78-73 in the Northeast-10 Quarterfinals. The Golden Knights will advance to the semifinals and play No. 6 Pace Friday night in New Haven, CT.This was the final game for four Bulldog seniors: Jess Cegarra (Danville, NH), Lauren Rubenoff (New Hartford, CT), Skiba and Murphy. Bryant, who was picked to finish 11th in the Northeast-10 Conference in the preseason, finishes the 2006-07 season in seventh place with an overall record of 19-10 and 14-8 in the NE-10.

SOUTH EASTON, MASS. – After leading her team to two wins last week, freshman Kelsey O’Keefe (Warren, Mass.) was named the Northeast-10 Player and Freshman of the Week from Feb. 19-25. O’Keefe averaged 13.5 points, 10 rebounds, and 38.5 minutes in victories over Merrimack and Saint Michaels. The Bulldogs take on Saint Rose in the Conference quarterfinals Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Albany, N.Y.

Women's Hoops Advances to NE-10 Quarterfinals with 58-53 Win over Saint Michaels
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant women’s basketball team used solid defense and grabbed key offensive rebounds to narrowly edge Saint Michaels in overtime 58-53 in the first round of the Northeast-10 Tournament Sunday afternoon at the Chace Center. With the victory, Bryant, ranked seventh in the conference tournament, will head to second-ranked Saint Rose Tuesday for a quarterfinal matchup at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs finished overtime on a 11-3 run, led by the offensive rebounding of Lauren Rubenoff (New Hartford, CT) and Kelsey O’Keefe (Warren, Mass.) and outstanding defense from Courtney Schermerhorn (Lowell, Mass.).

Men's and Women's Basketball to Host Northeast-10 Conference Playoff Games
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After successful regular seasons, both Bryant basketball teams will host conference tournament games at the Chace Athletic Center. The men’s team (18-9, 14-8), which finished fourth in the Northeast-10, will host the winner of No. 5 American International and No. 12 Merrimack in the quarterfinals Monday night, February 26, at 7 p.m. The women’s team (18-9, 14-8) finished seventh in the conference and will host No. 10 Saint Michael’s Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the first round of the tournament. Tickets are six dollars for adults and three dollars for students.

Bulldogs Close Out Regular Season with 62-58 Win Over Merrimack
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – On senior night at the Chace Center, the Bryant women’s basketball team closed out its regular season with a 62-58 over Merrimack College. With the victory, the Bulldogs (18-9, 14-8 NE-10) clinch the seventh seed in the Northeast-10 Tournament and will play Saint Michael's this Sunday at the Chace Center at 2 p.m in the first round of the tourney. Before the game, seniors Jessica Cegarra (Danville, NH), Joanna Skiba (Providence, RI), Lauren Rubenoff (New Hartford, CT) and Murphy were honored as part of senior day. Junior Lynne-Ann Kokoski (Hatsfield, Mass.) led the way scoring 16 points, two shy of her career-high in 38 minutes.

NEW HAVEN, CT. – The Bryant women’s basketball team closed out its road portion of the regular season with an 83-63 loss to the fourth-ranked Southern Connecticut State Owls Saturday afternoon. Kelsey O’Keefe (Warren, Mass.) led the Bulldogs in the loss, scoring 23 points, three short of her career high, including 15 in the second half. Bryant (17-9, 13-8 NE-10) will close out its regular season at home Tuesday against Merrimack College at 5:30 p.m. Before the game, the four Bulldog seniors will be honored.

COLCHESTER, VT – Behind a career-high 33 points from senior Joanna Skiba (Providence, RI), the Bryant women’s basketball team downed the Saint Michael’s Purple Knights 78-73 Wednesday evening in a Northeast-10 matchup. Skiba seven three's tie the school record for three-pointers in a game. The Bulldogs have won seven of their last eight games and are sixth in the Northeast-10 standings with two regular season games to play. SMITHFIELD, R.I. – In front of a record and raucous crowd over 1400 fans at the Chace Center Saturday afternoon, the Bryant women’s basketball team remained on fire, defeating rival Bentley College 63-51 in a Northeast-10 Conference game. With the victory, the Bulldogs are tied with the Falcons in the standings. Entering Saturday’s contest, Bentley was fourth in the NE-10, while Bryant was tied for seventh. Freshman Kelsey O’Keefe (Warren, Mass.) led all scorers 23 points and added nine rebounds in 35 minutes of action. SOUTH EASTON, MASS. - Bryant senior forward Lauren Rubenoff (New Hartford, CT) has been named to the Northeast-10 All-Academic Second team. Rubenoff, who is third on the Bulldogs in scoring and second in rebounding, has maintained a 3.43 grade-point-average while majoring in marketing and with a sociology minor. WORCESTER, MASS. – The Bryant University Women’s Basketball team used another fast road start to notch its fourth straight win, third straight on the road, 56-45 over Assumption College Tuesday night. Senior forward Lauren Rubenoff (New Hartford, CT) continued her dominance on the road, leading the Bulldogs with a double-double on 18 points and ten boards in 37 minutes. SMITHFIELD, RI - As the weather gets colder, the Bryant basketball season is heating up! The Bulldog men’s and women’s teams are both sitting at 3-2 in conference as we enter December. Both teams remind you to “Pack the Pound” and support the teams throughout the season. This Saturday, however, Bryant University athletic department would also like to take a chance to help those less fortunate and share the true spirit of the season by running a food drive to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

Women's Basketball Falls with Seconds Remaining to Bentley 62-60
WALTHAM, MASS. - Despite leading throughout most of the game, the Bryant Women's Basketball team could not hold the lead in the waning moments, as Bentley's Shannon Kirwan drained a three-pointer with 1.5 seconds to play to give the Falcons the 62-60 win Tuesday night in Waltham, Mass. Bentley finish the game on a 17-4 run. Lauren Rubenoff finished with a career-high 23 points, including 18 in the second half. Bryant will host Southern N.H. Saturday (1:30 p.m.) at the Chace Center.

Women's Basketball Rolls Past River Hawks 68-48 Saturday To Run Record to 5-1
LOWELL, Mass. - Joanna Skiba (Providence, RI) scored 14 points and Lauren Rubenoff (New Hartford, Conn.) and Erin Murphy (Albany, NY) each added 12 points to help lead the Bryant University women’s basketball team to its fifth win in six games as the Bulldogs rolled past UMass Lowell, 68-48 at Costello Gym in Lowell, Mass. The Bulldogs will visit Bentley College on Tuesday night starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Dana Center.

Skiba Reaches 1,000 Career Points
SMITHFIELD, RI - It was a historic night at the Chace Athletic Center Wednesday night as Bryant senior guard Joanna Skiba (Providence / Classical) became the 16th women's basketball player in school history to record her 1,000th point as the Bulldogs picked up a big Northeast-10 Conference win over Assumption College, 80-76. The Bryant men's and women's teams begin a key four-game conference stretch this Saturday when the Bulldogs visit UMass Lowell on Saturday.

Women's Basketball Picks Up Big 80-76 Win over Assumption Wednesday Night Behind Skiba's 22
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant Women’s Basketball team defeated Assumption College 80-76, improving their home record to 4-0 Wednesday night at the Chace Athletic Center in Smithfield, R.I. With her basket with 18:22 remaining in the first half, Bulldog captain Joanna Skiba (Providence, R.I.) became the 16th player to score 1,000 points in a Bulldog uniform. Skiba was awarded a game ball from Head Coach Mary Burke and was cheered loudly by the Bulldog faithful following her milestone lay-in. She came away with a steal and broke down the court, scoring a fast-break lay-up, while drawing a foul on the play.

Women's Basketball Falls to Franklin Pierce Sunday
RINDGE, NH - Joanna Skiba scored 21 points but it was not enough as the Bryant University women's basketball team fell to Franklin Pierce, 75-58 Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs will host Assumption on Wednesday at the Chace Athletic Center starting at 5:30 p.m.

O'Keefe Leads Bulldogs Past Saint Anselm
SMITHFIELD, RI – Bryant freshman Kelsey O'Keefe (Warren, Mass.) scored 19 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to help lead the Bulldogs to a 63-48 win over visiting Saint Anselm College Tuesday night. The game served as the Northeast-10 Conference opener for both schools as Bryant improves its record to 3-0 on the young season. The Bulldogs used a 17-2 run in the final four minutes to break open a close game. The Bulldogs trailed 32-31 at the half but battled back, taking a 39-36 lead on a bucket inside by O'Keefe.

Women's Basketball Now 2-0; Defeats Felician 90-35
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Fourteen of Bryant's 15 players scored as the Bulldogs downed Felician College 90-35 in the final game of the Bryant Tip-Off. The Bulldogs went on a 20-0 run early and led 27-4 midway through the first half. Bryant (2-0) will open Northeast-10 Conference play Tuesday against Saint Anselm at 5:30 at the Chace Center.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant Women's Basketball team started its season with a bang, as they defeated Queens College 91-63 in the first game of the Bryant Tip-Off. Seniors Joanna Skiba and Lauren Rubenoff led the way with 14 points each. The Bulldogs host Felician College in the final game of the Tip-Off Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the Chace Center.

Women's Hoops Picked 11th in Northeast-10 Preseason Poll
SOUTH EASTON, MASS. - The Bryant Women’s Basketball team has been picked to finish 11th in the 2006-07 Women’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The Bulldogs finished 9-18 in 2005-06. Led by captains Joanna Skiba (Providence, R.I.) and Erin Murphy (Albany, N.Y.), Bryant will open its season against Queens on November 17th as part of the Bryant Tip-Off Tournament on Friday November 17th at 5:30 p.m at the Chace Center.

Women's Basketball Unveils 2006-07 Schedule
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant Women's Basketball team announced its 2006-07 schedule. The Bulldogs will open the season hosting the Bryant Tip-Off Tournament on November 17th and 18th.
