BULLDOGS HOST HOLY CROSS IN 2009-10 HOME-OPENER WEDNESDAY AT 7 PM
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University women's basketball team plays host to the College of the Holy Cross on Wednesday, Nov. 18 in the 2009-10 home-opener. The Bulldogs enter the contest with an 0-1 overall record after dropping their season-opener at defending Ivy League champion, Dartmouth College, on Saturday, Nov. 14. The Crusaders currently have a 1-1 record after dropping their season-opener at Yale, but rebounded Monday night with a victory over NEC affiliate, Central Connecticut State.

BRYANT STUDENT-ATHLETES EARN NEC SCHOLAR AWARDS
SOMERSET, NJ – Four Bryant University student-athletes have been named to the Northeast Conference Winter Commissioner’s Honor Roll and 18 additional student-athletes have been named to the NEC Academic Honor Roll announced this week by the conference office. The Commissioner’s Honor Roll honors those with a 3.75 or better grade point average. All Scholar-Athlete award winners must have earned a minimum of 60 semester hours, maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 and participated with distinction as a member of a varsity team.

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Two made free throws from junior Courtney Schermerhorn (Lowell, Mass.) with 7.1 seconds left on the clock vaulted the Bryant University women's basketball team to a 64-61 win over Northeast Conference opponent Central Connecticut State University Tuesday night at Detrick Gymnasium, marking the program's second Division I win in its inaugural season at the NCAA's highest level.
