SMITHFIELD, RI - A total of 15 home dates highlight the 2009-10 Bryant University women's basketball schedule that was announced today by head coach Mary Burke.  The Bulldogs, who embark on their second year competing at the Division I level this winter, will play three of its first five games of the season at home right off the bat.

Opening with a road game at Dartmouth on Nov. 14, Bryant will return home to host Holy Cross (Nov. 18), Lafayette (Nov. 21) and instate rival Brown University on Nov. 24 at the Chace Athletic Center.  The Bulldogs will have two home dates in December, hosting Binghamton and Lehigh, before traveling to Florida Dec. 28-29 to take part in the Florida International University Tournament along with Hampton, Georgia Tech and host FIU.

Bryant is coming off an 11-18 season a year ago, posting five wins against Northeast Conference schools.  Bryant will become an official member of the NEC upon completion of the four-year Division I transition in 2012-13, however the Bulldogs will be included in the conference standings starting with the upcoming season.   Bryant will still not be eligible to participate in the NEC's postseason tournament until completion of the transition.

Bryant returns four starters and nine letterwinners including senior forward Kelsey O'Keefe who averaged 16.3 points per game and pulled down 7.8 rebounds per contest last season as a junior.
