SMITHFIELD, RI – The Bryant University women’s lacrosse team lost a non-league opponent C.W. Post 11-8 in a game played today at Bulldog Stadium.
With win C.W. Post improves to 8-1 overall while Bryant drops to 8-3 overall and 5-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference.
Bryant got on the board first scoring one minute into the game when Shaun Leddy’s (Sea Girt, NJ) unassisted goal made it 1-0. C.W. Post would then score the next five goals in a span on 15 minutes including two by Mallory Poole to make 5-1.
Bryant would then close the half with four goals in the last minutes with one each from Melissa Talaimini (Mendon, Mass.), Caitlin Hansen (Spring Lake, NJ), Lauren Carlisle (San Diego, Calif.), and Maureen Burns (Derry, NH) to make it 7-5 at the half.
Bryant would cut the lead to 7-6 just 35 seconds into the second half when Marisa Lawrence (Falmouth, Mass.) scored off an assist from Leddy. However the Pioneers would answer with four straight goals of their own for the win.
Leddy lead Bryant with two goals and an assists while Carlisle added two. C.W. Post was lead by Colleen Agostinachio who had three goals and an assist.
Bryant will return to action Monday when they travel to Franklin Pierce for a Northeast-10 Conference game set for a 6:00PM start.
