Bryant Places Three on NE-10 First Team All-Conference in Women's Lacrosse

Burns, Leddy, and Lewis Named First Team All-Conference

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Senior Michelle Lewis (East Amherst, N.Y), junior Maureen Burns (Derry, N.H.) and sophomore Shaun Leddy (Sea Girt, N.J.) were all named First Team All-Northeast-10 Conference which was announced this weekend by the league office.  Sophomore Lauren Carlisle (San Diego, Calif.) was named to the all-conference second team. 

Leddy led the Bulldogs with 42 goals and 12 assists and was second on the team in total points with 54.  She had a game-winning goal this season plus added 34 ground balls. 

Lewis, a standout defensive player for the Bulldogs and a four-year member of the team since the program started four years ago, was respected as one of the top defensive players in the conference this season and proved so by landing on the first team all-conference list. Lewis started all 17 games and led the way with 62 ground balls plus 38 caused turnovers during the regular season.

Burns turned in another fine season this year, moving back to the midfield position Burns had seven goals and six assists, including a pair of goals in the NE-10 semifinal vs. Merrimack.  As a midfielder, Burns played a key role defensively, recording 49 ground balls and causing 26 turnovers this season.

Bryant capped off another successful season in 2005, tying a school record with 12 wins under first-year coach Karen Healy.
