BURNS AND LEDDY EARN ALL-AMERICA HONORS

SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University women's lacrosse standouts Maureen Burns (Derry, NH) and Shaun Leddy (Sea Girt, NJ) were recently named all-America by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for 2006.
Burns started all 17 games at defense for the Bulldogs, leading the team with 54 ground balls, 36 draw controls, and 27 caused turnovers. In addition, she was named the 2006 Defensive Player of the Year in the Northeast-10 by the conference coaches. She concludes her career seventh in school history with 45 career goals and is Bryant's all-time career leader with 220 ground balls and 141 career draw controls.
Leddy enjoyed a solid junior season for the Bulldogs. She was third on the team with 40 goals and is Bryant's all-time career leader with 135 career goals entering her senior season. With 52 goals as a freshman in 2004 and 43 goals in 2005, this is Leddy's third-consecutive season earning First Team All-Conference honors.
