BENTLEY WOMEN DEFEAT BRYANT 13-10 IN WOMEN'S LACROSSE TUESDAY EVENING

Lauren Carlisle had three goals to give her 12 on the season but it was not enough as the Bryant women's lacrosse team fell to Bentley, 13-10 Tuesday night.

SMITHFIELD, RI - Junior Alyssa Ritchie (North Andover, Mass.) scored five goals including three in the second half to help lift the visiting Bentley Falcons a 13-10 win over Bryant University in Northeast-10 Conference women's lacrosse action Tuesday night at the Bryant Turf Complex.

Bentley (2-4, 2-1 NE-10) broke open a 6-6 game at the half by scoring three goals in a six-minute span to open the second as Kim Morris (Saratoga Springs, NY), Liz Goddard (Acton, Mass.) and Ritchie all netted single tallies to put the visitors ahead 9-6 with a little over 23 minutes left in the contest.

Bryant (2-2, 1-1 NE-10) would pull back to within 9-8 thanks to goals by Allison Faiola (Billerica, Mass.) and Delia Glover (Marston Mills, Mass.).  Glover's free position goal with 20:31 left appeared to swing the momentum on the side of the Bulldogs, but Bentley was able to steal back any thoughts of a Bryant come back with three more goals - two by Ritchie to make it a 12-8 game and the Falcons would hold on.

Keying the second half surge for the Falcons was exceptional play on draw controls in the second half.  Freshman Leah Levitt (Holliston, Mass.) and Jaclyn Griffin (Barrington, Ill.), also a freshman, each finished with four draw controls in the game and helped set the Bentley tempo offensively.

Bryant was led by senior Lauren Carlisle (San Diego, Calif.) who finished with three goals while Glover and Amanda Gallant (Andover, Mass.) each finished with a pair.

Bryant will travel to Franklin Pierce on Thursday and visit Assumption College this Saturday.
