Women's Lacrosse Falls to Southern NH 22-14 in NE-10 Semifinals Friday
MANCHESTER, NH - The 2008 season came to a close for the Bryant University women's lacrosse team Friday night as the Bulldogs fell to Southern NH, 22-14 in a Northeast-10 Conference Semifinal round game. The Bulldogs close out the season 10-8 overall on the year. Sophomore Allison Faiola scored eight goals to give her 66 on the season.

Women's Lacrosse Holds On For 15-13 Win Over Bentley in NE-10 Quarterfinals Wednesday
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Bryant University junior Delia Glover (Marston Mills, MA) scored six goals while senior Caitlin Hansen (Spring Lake, NJ) added five as the Bulldogs held on down the stretch for a 15-13 win over Bentley College in a Northeast-10 Conference women's lacrosse quarterfinal round game Wednesday at the Bryant Turf Complex. Bryant, the third seed of the tournament, will travel to Manchester, NH to face second-seed Southern New Hampshire this Friday at 7 p.m. Bentley, which got three goals from Alyssa Ritchie (North Andover, MA) and Jaclyn Griffin (Barrington, IL), ends its season at 7-10.

SMITHFIELD, RI The Bryant University women's lacrosse team opens postseason play Wednesday afternoon hosting Bentley College in a Northeast-10 Conference Tournament quarterfinal round game starting at 4 p.m. at the Bryant Turf Complex. The Bulldogs (9-7) are the third seed of the tournament while Bentley (7-9) is the No. 6 seed. The winner of Wednesday's game will travel to Manchester, NH to face second-seeded Southern New Hampshire Friday night at 7 pm.

The drops the Bulldogs to 8-5 overall on the season while New Haven improves to 11-2.

Freshman Tamara Bender (Mount Vernon, NH / Souhegan HS) scored a career-best six goals and senior Caitlin Hansen (Spring Lake, NJ) netted four as the Bryant University womens lacrosse team picked up a 16-7 win over Merrimack College Wednesday night at Warrior Field. The win, Bryants third in-a-row, improves the teams record to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the Northeast-10. The Bulldogs will stay on the road and travel to Colchester, VT this Saturday to face the Purple Knights of Saint Michaels in another key NE-10 game starting at 1 p.m.

Faiola and Hansen Lead Bulldogs to 23-11 Win Over Assumption Saturday Afternoon
Smithfield, RI - Allison Faiola (Billerica, Mass.) and Caitlin Hansen (Spring Lake, NJ) notched five goals apiece to lead the Bulldogs past the Assumption Greyhounds 23-11 on a blustery day at the Bryant Turf Field Complex. The BUlldogs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Tamara Bender (Mount Vernon, NH) found the back of the net just over a minute into the game. The Bulldogs would then answer with four unanswered goals and take a 14-4 lead into halftime. The Bulldogs would cruise to the victory, outscoring the Greyhounds 9 to 7 in the second half.

Bryant will host Assumption Saturday at 1 pm.

WALTHAM, Mass. Down by a pair of goals at the half, the Bryant womens lacrosse team stormed back in the second half with seven goals to take a three goal lead but could not hold on as Bentley College prevailed 17-16 in overtime Tuesday night. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 3-3 overall (1-1 NE-10) heading into Thursdays game against Franklin Pierce at the Bryant Turf Field (7 pm). Allison Faiola (5) and Delia Glover (26) combined for eight goals on the night.

It was the Norhteas-10 Conference opener for the Bulldogs who have now won three straight since opening the season with a loss at Division I Louisville back in February. The Bulldogs will host top-ranked and defending national champion C.W. Post on Saturday at noon.

WINTER PARK, FL The Bryant womens lacrosse team took an 11-3 lead into the locker room at the half and held on to post a 19-11 non-conference victory over host Rollins College Wednesday afternoon. The win, Bryants second of two spring game trips to the Sunshine State, improves the teams record to 2-1 under first year coach Jessica Davos. Rollins, which scored eight second-half goals, drops to 3-5. The Bulldogs travel to AIC next Wednesday for the conference opener.

Bulldogs Picked Fourth in Preseason NE-10 Poll Under New Coach Jessica Davos
Smithfield, RI - The Bulldogs begin the 2008 season under new head coach Jess Davos, looking to build on their 8-6 record in 2007. Perennial power Stonehill College was picked to win an unprecedented 10th consecutive Northeast-10 Regular Season Title. The Skyhawks took 8 of 11 first place votes, to finish ahead of a crowded pack of challengers. Bentley and Southern New Hampshire finished tied for second with 98 points. The Falcons, under Davos, made a huge leap to 11-6 last year. Following are Merrimack and Bryant who both took a first place vote. The Warriors, coached by former Bryant assistant Corrinne Baker, edged the Bulldogs by one point (87-86).
